A forty year old factory
worker, Laurence Judge of
Banglestown, Kilmessan
was sentenced to a year's
imprisonment and fined
two hundred pounds at
Cavan Co Court last week.
Garda Fintan O'Cuillean
told the court how he had
stopped Judge driving a
white Renault 104 on the
Kilmessan/Bailieboro` road
on October 21st last and
had found him the worse
for drink. When he
questioned the defendant,
Judge told him: "Fuck off I
know you and all those
fucking guards up there
and you're all a crowd of
fuckers. Now get out of the
fucking way and don't be
fucking annoying me or l'll
make a complaint to
Bollocks Gilsenan', (a
reference to Detective
Sergeant Sean Gilsenan of
Ballyracket station).
Liam Boyle SC, acting
for the defendent,
explained that his client
had been drinking heavily
on the day in question andhad been having marital
problems.On that morning
he had driven to O'Boyle's
public house in Bailieboro
and had drunk up to 80
pints of stout. He had
returned home for lunch at
approximately 1.30
purchasing 12 six packs of
lager before leaving. He
then proceeded to drink
these at home before
returning to O'Boyle's
