"Chromatic Horizon" (June 2026) Oil on canvas - 46x46" This is the largest painting I've worked on. It took a few months, and simultaneously I re-learned how to paint oils in the process. #oilpainting #storm #clouds #rainbow #traditionalart #landscape #art #chicagoartist
Returning to this WIP. It still needs a lot of work, but it will eventually be a DM screen for my partner. Hoping it will work well as my first triptych on wood panels. #dnd #acrylicpainting #traditionalmediums #landscapeart #chicagoartist #fantasyart #triptychart
Here's a digital drawing inspired by the Smoky Mountains, where I'm currently visiting.
Finished this one a few days ago Acrylic on canvas - 18x24" #acrylicpainting #landscapeart #storm #clouds #traditionalmediums
First layers. Working in oils for the first time since high school. I'm finding the process much more intuitive than with acrylics.
I finished prepping this 46x46" canvas yesterday. I'm challenging myself to work on a larger scale, and it will be the largest I've ever worked on. I love my friends who are letting me use their space to make art 💜
Some details of a work in progress that I've been working on for several hours.
Sharing some progress from today. My process is a little chaotic. I start with very vague shapes and gradually add more details over time, as the image I'm creating becomes clearer to me.
I've worked on this one slowly these past several months. Acrylic on canvas, 'Summer Solitude' - 16x20." #acrylicpainting #traditionalmediums #art #landscapeart #storm #rain #clouds #water #lake
Foraging is becoming my new obsession. Here's some oyster mushrooms, hickory nuts, and a black walnut. I only managed to find one hickory nut that wasn't spoiled, but they're not quite in season yet. The walnuts still need to dry before I open them. #foraging #nature #mushrooms
His name is Otter by the way! Give him some love, too! He is the bestest, goofiest boy there is.
I think a picture of my cat is needed today. My partner has covid and we're getting married on Sunday. I'm stressed, though glad I got a booster two weeks ago. I'm immunocompromised, and have had covid 3-4 times already. Luckily no symptoms so far. Send me all your luck and good vibes, please 🤍
My partner helped me capture this on our drive home today. The longer I live in the Midwest, the more I appreciate scenes like this one.
Work in progress! I'm close to finishing the clouds, but the water still needs a bit more work. #acrylicpainting #clouds #traditionalmediums #water #landscapeart
