Boulevardier on the rocks because I didn't want to dirty additional barware.
My mom has passed along a bunch of pillowcases that have decorative needlepoint done by my grandma. Unfortunately, the pillow cases are super stained and discolored from years of use followed by poor storage. I'm going to try some oxy soaks, but any ideas for cleaning or repurposing?
It isn't the most photogenic, but we had a Mexican feast tonight of slow cooker pork carnitas in tacos, refried beans, and elote. Pork shoulder braises all day then gets crisped up under the broiler or in a skillet. So good!
Spread some mulch, refreshed the front planter pot, and watered everything well. Time to shower and hydrate and figure out how I'm going to celebrate the rest of the day now that gardening is done. Open to suggestions!
It makes me so happy that I can get this at Walmart here. Sure, I can make salsa, but sometimes I just want an easy snack.
Lurking on the coffee table this morning - he wants to be close but won't let me touch him.
Tonight's #crystalcocktail is a Burmuda Hundred - gin, pineapple, lime, Campari, orgeat. Tropical but not sweet. 🌴
Three more bushes gone. I was thankful for the cloud cover this morning.
Not sure I would classify this as progress. Just a bigger mess of a hole.
I got a (way overdue) haircut. I went for a walk. I browsed plants at the garden center. And I finally took the clothes rack out and filled our giant Jacuzzi tub for a little soak.
Putting our cherry tomatoes to good use on this holiday. Skies finally cleared to fire up the grill
When we lived in Atlanta, my dad used to get people asking/believing he was Ted Turner on a semi-regular basis, espcially at sporting events. They do look a lot alike. Dad would always say "if I was, would I be here in the cheap seats?" RIP Ted, and thank you for your philanthropic work.
For ~40 yrs, I've been visiting family on the southern NC coast - 1st my grandparents then my mom. My sister's ashes were scattered on these beaches. It's always been a 2nd home. This past week, I moved my mom to Louisiana. I'm going to miss these beaches. There are no more Johnsons in NC.
