About turned back 3 times on ride today because I could tell I was starting to overheat. Took breaks and almost 7 bottles of water to get through this ride in the mountains. Way too hot here as well.
Great ride today from Louisville to Eldorado Springs Canyon. Good views and a large group of nice people.
Great ride yesterday up in Silverthorne, Dillon, Keystone, and all the way up to Montezuma, CO. Great views and a good climb.
Had a great ride today. 60 miles and 4,200 feet of ascent to ride all the way around west Maui loop. Such great scenery.
Had a great time @bsidesboulder.bsky.social Saturday. We had the Mental Health Hackers booth set up to help destigmatize being mental health aware in IT. Had a lot of great conversations and laughs at the dumpster fire cards.
First Unbound Gravel was a bit nuts. Ton of mud, rain, and people. With better weather I’m looking forward to doing the 100 mile next year.
Cheering on our friends that are competing in the 350 mile XL route at Unbound Gravel 2026. Start was cool with how many are participating in this self-supported ride.
Rode through there 2 weeks ago and when the wind blew all the pine trees released yellow clouds of pollen. Still happening a bit at my house. Hopefully better by then but still taking both antihistamines and nose spray every day.
Looking pretty roasty for Wicked Wilson bike ride in Russell, KS this weekend. Hope I can pace it well enough to get done before it's too hot.
For Earth Day our riding group along with about 30 others collected trash along the entire Lookout Mountain road. Great people. Great views. And a great cause. Even had a few riders stop and help out. Looking forward to riding up this challenging climb after Unbound in May.
Needed to get a ride in before a busy weekend. Was a bit windy but felt good after a decent initial climb. 3 weeks until Wicked Wilson 5 weeks until Unbound
Finch's have taken over the bird feeder and pushing everyone else out here in Denver.
Great ride today. 27 showed up and we knocked out 50 miles. Best I’ve felt in a few months.
Went for distance yesterday and not speed. Still trying to get my power back after a minor knee injury. Only the second time I e been up Waterton Canyon without seeing the Bighorn Sheep but there was multiple people on horses.
4 months ago daughter asked to learn drums so she could play @greenday.bsky.social When I Come Around at Jr High school talent show with friends. Never played an instrument before and held down the basic rhythm in front of classmates. I played drums growing up & wouldn’t have done this at that age.
I’ve rode the canyon about 15 times since moving here last summer. Seen them anywhere from the pipes to the dam. Very cool to see when they’re altogether. Have also seen the black bears, deer, moose, and turkeys. I will ride it Saturday as well. Preparing for Unbound in May.
First time up Waterton Canyon and didn’t see any Bighorn Sheep. A bit disappointing but that ride is always awesome, even with a decent wind. I’ve been trying out a bit of the Colorado Trail. It’s a rough go on the Gravel Bike but still fun.
My buddy took this one there one night after I told him about it. One of my favorite pictures.
Did you go across the road at Mushroom Rock to see the last tall one? It’s across the walking bridge by the bathroom.
Tried a creperie place in Littleton today. This place is fabulous. Not gonna be good on my waistline but for sure coming back at least once a month.
Weird weather year. In Denver we’ve been almost constantly warmer than KC. I just rode 20 miles in shorts/short sleeves.
Getting chains ready for the year. Hope they stay cleaner with a fresh waxing.
Bologna Boats. Sliced bologna cooked so it curls up, garlic mashed potatoes, and velveeta cheese.
