I hope that people will take inspiration from the course to develop their own creative and activist practices, even understanding the value of the smallest actions and how they can make a huge impact. This course is not prescriptive and does not dictate the actions that will change your life or the lives of others, but provides the structure for you to return to in times of overwhelm and understanding that the holistic nature of community development needs your presence.

It also teaches us empathy and seeing someone else's perspective, giving space and time for people who are normally silenced. Learning to be in the audience teaches us the value of being an active listener and witnessing someone's personal story.

My background is primarily in theatre, and it has been deeply impactful on my activist work. Theatre teaches us the power of actions coupled with precise language and how those can stop someone in their tracks to consider what they have just witnessed rather than accepting things "as they always have been".

Hearing about my fellow facilitators' creative joys and their passion for developing a kinder, more compassionate world has lit a fire in me, and I think anyone who attends the course will feel the same. It was important to me that the course structure reflects the importance of learning about new ideas and different perspectives from the people around us.

Art for Activism was originally proposed with only myself as a facilitator, but after listening to the work and interests of the other Neuroqueer Creative facilitators, it was clear that this course would be more impactful if it featured as many different voices and perspectives, and invited as many artistic mediums as possible.

💠 Tarot for Creatives: Workshop Overview 💠 What will the workshop look like?? If you're anything like me, you might get nervous around new people or experiences. So I've laid it out as best as I can without giving everything away!
