I have some positive and some very negative views about the current AI stuff, however this is just absolutely a big fuck you from me. A service that takes open source input and spits out a re-implementation, stripping away the attribution/licensing.

I was almost shocked - printing from FreeBSD to my old Epson Stylus NX420 worked a couple years ago when it was USB attached but in this new house it's now setup as network printer. And it worked. Almost. Except it isn't. The colour alignment is now wrong. sourceforge.net/p/gimp-print...

I opened up a power supply to, you know, check before i used it. mmmmmm these are some leaky bois (I tossed the PSU, screw it.)

Miss 12yo brought home a bunch of rocks from camp today. I do not like having to be bad cop here and tell her they're a million percent unsafe there and she needs to move them. :(

a marble shelf, about 6ft hgh, with four levels, and various trinkets. yes thats a partial pic of a taxidermy corvid on the top, and a fairy house on the bottom.

anyway, on the top level is the new shiny rocks, about 30 in total, and about 10 of them are big. like adult male fist sized big. like, "if this falls on you when you're sitting or lying down, you die" big.

so, ive told her they're not safe, and after she's out of the shower i'm going to make her remove them. sigh.

A story about an SGI Indy motherboard in three parts. First, a 47uF capacitor that exploded once I fired it up. (yes I checked the board for shorts first, no shorts.) Wow that smelled. Second, the board didn't boot right. Third, a 47uF capacitor which was a >150C, it had DEVELOPED a short.

two surface mount black aluminium 47uF capacitors, with 47-16 F9 written on them. One is missing its lid as it blew up. THe other is intact but the fucking fucker burnt my fucking finger when I touched it. Fucker.
