Small town girl, living in a lonely world. Fan of camping, kayaking and cruising. She/her. Originally from Dawson Creek, BC, which is not the same as Dawson's Creek, WB. Currently in Vancouver, BC.
It's since been deleted, but the irony of any scientist promoting a conference session on the adverse impacts of drought and extreme weather by posting a genAI-produced poster is just... 🤯
From the World Cup group chat after I asked @loxy.bsky.social what it would take for Canada to advance to the next round… 🤣
And a seat/storage thingy, free to a good home. Sturdy AF, just dingy.
Also some extendable poles from MEC (great for tarps) and two pie irons (for making nummy things over a camp fire.
I look forward to dressing up as a Blue Moon Over Brooklyn smoothie when our Heated Rivalry group chat plans a group Halloween costume, even though we live in many different cities.
It's been brought to my attention that Tim Daly is now a smoking hot silver fox, and I would like to propose a movie starring him as Jonathan Bailey's estranged American father and they go on globe-trotting adventures together as they try to repair their relationship.
Over on my Instagram (erin_braincandy), I’m selling a bunch of my husband’s and my extensive collection of Fluevog shoes. Neither of us work in an office anymore, and they’re literally just gathering dust.
My Letterboxd review of You, Me & Tuscany, which I watched in a nearly-empty theatre, except for one dude who I'm pretty sure just snuck in to take a nap.
Well, that's disgusting. I just unsubscribed from the Story Summit writer community.
I got an email today from Expedia promoting 10% off hotels for the Vancouver matches of FIFA 2026. Meanwhile, this is the view from my apartment…
Just Toronto to YVR, on our way home from the Dominican Republic. We were originally booked on AC125 until yesterday when we changed to an earlier flight 🤣
Except that’s a total lie because it’s the same plane that was shown in the Air Canada app and we’d been at the gate for over an hour with the plane sitting right there and when this notification came through the plane didn’t go anywhere and a 20 min delay wouldn’t be enough to change a whole plane.
Did I dig out my Sochi 2014 accreditation to wear to Heated Rivarly drag brunch? Yes. Yes, I did.

Since the gold medal game in mixed doubles curling is on now, permit me to share that time during the sport's debut at Pyeongchang 2018 that I made a silly joke and it got featured on MSNBC's Olympic coverage and I got sooooooo many people trying to explain to me how curling works. 🥌
On this day in 2014: more unappetizing workforce meals, bought some tickets for event where I didn't have an in with past colleagues, and sang O Canada (loudly, poorly) at a medal presentation ceremony.
On this day in 2010... we were setting up the mixed zone at the Whistler Olympic Plaza and hosting the first press conferences and scrums at the Whistler Media Centre.
The third and final Canadian ice dance pair will repeat their performance from the team event, skating to Supermodel by RuPaul and I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred (again, some more)… 🇨🇦
And on *this* day in 2014, I was introduced to the absurdity of workforce breakfasts, worked the men's hockey practices interviewing players, and watched with amazement as all of my Russian colleagues absolutely lost their shit whenever Putin appeared on TV in the dining hall.
Belated on this day in 2014... *yesterday* in 2014, I explored the Sochi Olympic Park and went for a sunny walk along the Black Sea.
On this day in 2014... picked up my accreditation and uniform, then had dinner at the Main Media Center McDonalds and watched the Opening Ceremony in the press workroom.
On this day in 2014... it was 22C as I arrived in Sochi (really Adler) and got checked into my Games accommodations.
And because I knew all of the words to Blame Canada (from South Park) and My (Boy)friend Who Lives in Canada (from Avenue Q) and made the mistake of singing along and chair dancing to them, I got pulled on stage to be one of her background dancers.
