Well, I will say that at 45 years I’ve finally grown into my front teeth. (Throwback pic at 8 years. Current pic while visiting my parents in beautiful Astoria, Oregon.)
Join us for a pop-up community cleanup by the Safeway on Piney Branch on Monday, July 20 at 9 am. The area needs a little love in between our regularly scheduled cleanups so we're popping up for a quick cleanup. Supplies are always provided, and all are welcome! Hope to see you there!

We had a great Pop Up! Cleanup at the Takoma Community Triangle Park. Collected 4 bags of trash, cleared overgrowth from the bike lane, and re-stocked the Little Free Library. Thank you Kate, Jim & David for keeping our local public spaces lovely. And thank you Sabina’s Cafe for refreshing drinks.

Belated gratitude to Eric! When we got married the officiant really wanted to pronounce us husband and wife. And we were like no it’s partners in marriage. He’s a true partner, an honorable parent to three monsters, and a genuinely kind person. ♥️♥️♥️
I was honored to join the Wards 7 and 8 Clergy and Faith Leaders’ Juneteenth Prayer Breakfast this morning. I appreciate listening, honoring, and reflecting on Black legacy, Black excellence, and Black futures. I saw so many friends who I haven’t seen in a while, too.
I was PROUD to join @transpridewashingtondc for this year’s Capital Pride Parade! 🌈🩷🩵🤎🖤 We made some noise and spread joy!
I celebrated the end of the school year today with Takoma Elementary School’s PTO. They kicked off summer with a ribbon cutting for their new little free library, lots of books and crafts, and ice cream from the Charmery of course. 📚🍦

It was a beautiful evening at the @merrypindc.bsky.social Boozy Book Fair: Queer Edition. 🌈🩷🩵🤎🖤 We drank cocktails and mocktails, ate food, made zines, and purchased from a curated @peoplesbooktakoma.com selection. My child Scholastic Book Fair heart was in heaven.

I’m a fan of ranked choice voting. In addition to promoting a different, more collegial way of campaigning, it allows voters to better express their preferences. Happy voting, DC!
I was able to attend a National Press Club event to hear from @sanders.senate.gov and it was 🔥. The talk focused on AI (interesting proposed legislation for a sovereign wealth fund), a positive vision for Democrats, and … fighting the oligarchy of course.

Yessssssss! The #TakomaPRIDE Parade was amazing! 🌈🩷🩵 I loved spending the morning with neighbors celebrating PRIDE, sharing information about Clean Takoma and neighborhood cleanups, and showing off some Takoma DC energy. The whistles, clacking fans, and candy did not disappoint!
And we got some traction on sanitation enforcement re some construction and other dumping, which was so nice to see!
Loved showing our #TakomaPRIDE today picking up litter and submitting 311 requests in the neighborhood. Thanks to the 8 volunteers who collected ten bags of litter, keeping our public spaces clean and full of pride. 🌈🩵🩷
It was great to watch People vs. Politics last night. I enjoyed hearing from Phil, Kenyatta, @lisadtrice.bsky.social, & Associate Producer Mary Claire! I loved the documentary's comparative look at democracy reform efforts across the country, including RCV + semi-open primaries in DC.
