Someone is trying real hard to pretend to be mad at me for going on vacation... and failing miserably
Japan has been such a fun adventure so far! I haven't been in humidity like this since the last time I was in Florida in the summer 😅 I swear I've lost 5lbs from sweating, the handheld fan I bought has been putting in work
23) Persona 3 Reload. When @mystakin.bsky.social told me this game was about death and trauma, he wasn't wrong 😂 What a game, it's up there with Outer Wilds and Edith Finch as a game whose ending made me openly sob on stream. An exceptional game. 10/10
22) The Glutton by A.K. Blakemore. What a hauntingly beautiful, tragic story. A historical fiction book about the Glutton of Lyon, a young man named Tarrare, an 18th cent. showman who had an insatiable appetite and would eat anything. Blakemore tells his story with love and care. 8/10
21) Taskmaster Series 21. Overall a fantastic season, however, one contestant just did not jive with me despite the show trying desperately to find them quirky and charming. Not my fave season, not the worst, feeling a light to medium 8/10. Bring on Series 22!
20) Romancelvania. A castlevania-like dating sim with various sexy creatures? Say no more! Charming little game, super fun, controls well, I liked all the potential matches (except Brocifer lol). Some jank in terms of audio and animation at times but doesn't detract from the game overall. 7/10! 🧄🧛♀️
17) Sweet Obsession by Katee Roberts. Kinky but romantic reimagining of Icarus and Poseidon? Don't mind if I do! As with a lot of these stories, the MMCs have a good amount of plot armor but I still found the stakes & the pacing to be rather good. Def has me interested in more from this series. 7/10
16) A Soul to Touch by Opal Reyne. Sue me, these books are hot and I should visit confessional after reading them. Cute story in-between the boinking, God bless an author that includes CWs! I have books 4, 5, and 6 in my Indigo cart as we speak. 9/10
15) The Skeleton King by Charity B. Friend got this for me, told me the synopsis, I forgot. So imagine my surprise when 3 chpt in I went IS THIS JACK/SALLY FANFIC?! Yes, dear reader, yes it is. This contains the best/worst example of plot armor I've ever seen. 7/10, a bit cringe but otherwise okay
14) Captured by Lauren Biel. I am concerned what it says about me that I liked this? Very, very, hella dark smut, the description did not prepare me for it. That being said, I was legit rooting for the MCs, as fucked up as they are. 6/10
13) Mate by Ali Hazelwood. Speaking of the thrust is the plot... look, we all know who I am. It was only a matter of time before I dipped my toes into the sweltering waters of the omegaverse. I found myself actually rooting for the FMC and her titular mate (hah, tit). 7/10
12) Kushiel's Dart by Jaqueline Carey. Bought it expecting a more "the thrust is the plot" type book, however this was anything but. It had love, sex, espionage, double crosses, double double crosses, kidnapping, conlangs, and a delightful proximity romance that better continue in book 2. 8/10
11) Dead Pets: A Punk Rock Slice of Life Sim. I fucking loved this game. I've never ID'd with a MC the way I do /w Gordy. Phenomenal premise, the rhythm sections were super fun, lots of other great mini games! I felt they handled challening topics very well, at times it was super raw and real. 10/10
10) Pokemon Fire Red. One of the rare Pokemon games I haven't played (unless we count a randomizer), and yknow, I forgot how grindy these games can be without the 4x exp setting on AP 😆 a nice nostalgic trip down memory lane. 8/10
9) Luigi's Mansion 3. The 1st of the series I've finished, loved the 3DS one until giant spider boss. Enjoyable lil game, Gooigi makes me giggle, fun puzzles, love King Boo, the way E. Gadd speaks gives me joy. 8/10 - still has spiders
7) Princess Peach Showtime! Adorable little game, give me an entire game of the ninja or kung-fu Peach. Didn't like the Sherlock or baker ones, but otherwise fairly solid. I wish there were settings to increase text speed, but it's for kids so I guess it makes sense. 7/10
Pepper doing her best attempt at hypnotizing me into giving her more treatos
5) Yoshi's Crafted World. I adore the fact that all the backgrounds are handmade, it's so cute and creative. I do, however, have bone to pick with whoever decided to put a TERRIFYING AXE-WIELDING CLOWN in a Yoshi game, Eryn hates clowns. 8/10 cuz clows are evil
