Zhou Yuelong and Jimmy Robertson are scheduled to play each other on consecutive days. On Wednesday they meet in the Shenzhen qualifiers and on Thursday they meet again in the British Open qualifiers. Both matches are scheduled at 11am CEST.

Nightmarish snooker.

Steadman leading Holt 60 to 40. They are on the green. The cueball is stuck closely between pink and top cushion on the left side of the table. The green is positioned close the the right side cushion on the baulk side of the table. Holt is aiming alongside the top cushion to hit the jaws of the corner pocket.

Marco Fu being nice afterwards also lead to Anton completely oversharing. 😄 He basically talked Marco through how nervous he was on which shot and what he was thinking about. That victory seemingly have meant a lot to him. Well done, Anton! 😀👏 #snooker

Lilly Meldrum has won the Heyball U19 World Championship in the girls category. 👏 She started playing snooker and reached the final of the U-21 World Championship in 2022 and the semifinal in 2023. She still competes in snooker events in Australia, in Heyball internationally.

All you want in a decider is a chance to escape a very tight snooker.

Decider between Jordan Brown and Ian Burns. Burns is 46 to 34 up, but the cueball lies close to the baulk cushion tight behind the blue, he has to hit the green which lies between pink spot and side cushion.

Typical Peter Lines experience for me this morning.

Snooker live stream on my tablet. Peter Lines leads Oliver Briffett-Payne 2 to 0 in a best of 9. The frame score of frame 3 is 13 to 7 to Briffett-Payne. Eight of the nine remaining reds and the black nearly form a line close to the top cushion. The last red, the yellow and the green are also close to the side cushion or baulk cushion.

Today the EBSA U-16 European Championships will be played to a conclusion. The quarterfinals are about to start. I can only recommend watching this, since the EBSA events are just the best events to follow if you're want to know who might be the next rising star from Europe. #snooker

Being a bit too much of a fan of a certain player makes you spot the smallest of errors creeping in, like Eurosport adding an average shot time for Zhou Yuelong that was a bit too high to be plausible. 😅

The last seven results on snooker dot org. Three of them highlighted: Liam Pullen beating Chris Wakelin 4 to 3, Stan Moody beating Jimmy Robertson 4 to 0 and Jackson Page beating Luca Brecel 4 to 0 as well.

Zhou Yuelong beat Alexander Ursenbacher 4 to 0. He made breaks of 101, 62, 61 and 87 en route.

Incredible consistency by Oliver Sykes in this season's Q tour. He's reached the final day (last 8) on 5 of 6 occasions, reaching the quarter final twice and the semifinal three times. There's still a chance for him to snatch the number 1 spot, but he's still far behind Clarke. #snooker #QTour

Oliver Skyes currently sits on rank 4 in the provisional Q tour rankings on 23,240 points, behind the leader Jamie Clarke 30,220 points, Peter Lines 25,840 points and Hammad Miah who has already qualified via another route. He's the highest ranked player who's still left in the competition of Q tour 6. Currently he's earned 4900 points for reaching the semifinal, reaching the final would equal 7000 points, winning the event 10000.

Snooker is such a weird sport.

Scoresheet of Jimmy Robertson vs. Cheung Ka Wai. Cheung dominated the first four frames with breaks of 79, 105, 88 and 73. Then he scored only 6 points in the next frames combined, while Robertson made breaks of 92, 79 and 95. In the end Cheung completed a 5 to 3 victory with a break of 95.

After losing the world number 1 spot and some disappointing results of late Mink is on her way to fight back. In the semifinal of the Belgian Open she ended Bai Yulu's incredible match winning streak after Bai had fought back to reach a decider after trailing 0-3. #snooker #WomensSnooker

THREAD 🧵 One thing that's been noticeable for quite a while in snooker and is very obvious in this year's WGP is the bad framing in favour of visibility for advertisers and I think WST would do best to sort this out. Look at the view on table 1 and table 4 in comparison:

Table 1. The advertising banner stretches over the upper third of the picture. The side cushions of the table are nearly parallel and a lot of red carpet can be seen left and right to the table. Zhang Anda is standing behind the baulk cushions, he can be seen from his thighs to his shoulders.

Table 4. The top cushion is displayed wider and the side cushions aren't parallel but become more narrow at the back of the table. Top left and top right of the picture half of the players seats can be seen each of the having a little table at its side towards the middle of the picture. The advertising banner ist in the top quarter of the picture spanning from one players' seat to the other's. Both players are standing in the back of the picture. Zhou Yuelong can be seen from knees to chest, Jak Jones from feet to chest.
