Old I may be, and hag I may be, but stupid I ain't.
I think of this quotation from Terry Pratchett a lot when I hear establishment Dems scolding the base for not being grateful and obedient for whatever they decide our issues are allowed to be once they've been run through focus groups and consultants.
I had not heard of him or this case before, and the article doesn't explain why he persisted in trespassing. I thought maybe he had a delusional disorder, but no, he's just a hateful prick
I think you can accept that there will come a time to walk with Death, even accept that the time is imminent, and still be sad.
Merry and Pippin say hello, and why not visit a dog park today?
This is how one of my dogs ended up with a t shirt wardrobe. She could get out of the Cone of Shame so we bought a toddler t shirt. After she was healed, she continued to boop us until we put on the shirt. Shirt got smelly, now she has many shirts. May Hound have such a happy ending.
I would like to know where these 18th-century Americans were getting their mangoes
Merry and Pippin are starring in Revenge of the Jurassic Park Rangers
I feel like the Guardian is usually better than this. What kind of "brief struggle?" Who initiated the contact? How did he "become unresponsive" after being taken into custody? Why did he need medical aid (and when were paramedics called)? www.theguardian.com/sport/2025/o...
Finally got to read Wild Faith by Talia Lavin @swordsjew.bsky.social and it's unbelievably prescient Also starts off with this quotation, which meant she had me from the first page
It’s like they are checking how much we love them By how big a vet bill we will foot
One of my favorite examples: correlation between Nicholas Cage movies and drowning deaths (www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/otm...) I think we all know the next logical step.
Can Pippin join the club? Although then they would have three of each so maybe we need another heterochromatic friend
If there's a footnote-level character category in this discussion, I'd argue that word for word, the Professor of Applied Anthropics sums up human nature better than anything I've ever seen.
If you see this, I implore you to post a picture from your device without comment.
I was literally eating a donut when I read this, so perhaps I'm biased. But should we really be taking healthy lifestyle advice from the heroin-and-roadkill guy?
Not just the political cartoons. Take a look at "To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street." I think they stopped coloring his skin bright yellow in later editions but jeez.
I'll see your beaver nuggets and raise you gopher balls, if we are playing "fun things to tell your friends they get to eat"
I imagine you would love this actual recommendation form I was asked to submit for a student applying to grad school
Not as much wrestling for the ball involved, but I'm still peeved at this yahoo who decided to take the ball out of Ben Oglive's glove in Game 3 of the 1982 AL Championships "Who cares about the playoffs? I want a souvenir!"
