More progress from one of the property renovations we are carrying out. Fancy being part of the story? essehouse.co.uk/working-holi...
We have had a busy day gutting the top floor of the building that will become our short-term emergency accommodation location, essecamp equipment stores, and event space. Still plenty to do, as you can see!
A lovely day had by all. Join us in Oban for our next adventure! www.essehouse.co.uk/about-essecamp
It was a hot weekend of work, but we now have a new roof, a new door, and a new communal laundry room for Esse House residents. 😎
Huge sections of our community are taking steps to mitigate the personal risk being enforced upon us just to exist on the fringes of society.
UPDATE: Our bulk order of Personal Alarms has cleared customs and will be with us in a few days If you have applied for an alarm as part of your Pee In Peace Program application - we anticipate it will be sent out before the end of this week. Apply here: www.essehouse.co.uk/pee-in-peace...
Over the last 5 days we have had SO MANY applications. We have 3 boxes like this to send out, but our tiny post office hates the fact we insist on getting all the receipts cos it holds up the queue - so we are doing a box a day over the next 3 days. If you are waiting for keys, they're on their way!
To give you an idea of the level of demand, we are receiving about 5 applications an hour for our accessible toilet keys.
Not even a 1/3 of the way through the key orders backlog since the EHRC guidance was released. 🏳️⚧️ www.essehouse.co.uk/pee-in-peace...
Been thinking about joining us for an EsseCamp adventure? We have set the next date! More info: www.essehouse.co.uk/about-essecamp
We are holding our next EsseCamp event in Scotland in August, to coincide with @obanpride.com to1 enable us to do some rural outreach by having a stall at the celebrations. We are making preparations and organising logistics this month, with application forms going live on 31st May 2026. 1/2
All of this is made possible by the community itself, co-operating and collaborating their skills, experience and time to leverage positive outcomes. By allies sending us a fiver a month. By our volunteers. Everyone working toward creating positive change. Community. 2/3
Over the last 4 days, our community, volunteers, and attendees have: • Laughed. A lot. • Raced glow in the dark rubber ducks down a river. • Climbed through the clouds to the highest point of the Isle of Arran • Prepared and served about 200 meals to the trans and non-binary community 1/2
What a great weekend! Watch out, Oban. We will see you in August. Applications to attend will open at the end of May 2026 Thank you to everyone who made this possible 💙
We will be on the Isle of Arran with 20 trans and non-binary people from all over the UK in just 24 hours. Good weather forecast. It's gunna be a beautiful weekend! See you at the next one? 🏴🌞🏕🏳️⚧️
EsseCamp Arran is just 48 hours away: the biggest and best trans and non-binary wild-camping adventure in the UK. We lay on activities and cater 3 meals a day for all diets, for FREE for all attendees; funded by the community & allies. Help us buy some sausages? www.essehouse.co.uk/donate
Our Camp Leader sent us this image from the site of our upcoming EsseCamp on the Isle of Arran, this weekend.
Need an accesible toilet key as a trans or non-binary resident or visitor to the UK Free if you need them to be.
We had a 12 volunteers and guests at our first Essecamp on the Isle of Bute, and expect that number to at least double for this next one in May. We are fairly sure EsseCamp is now the largest trans & non-binary wildcamping adventure in the UK. Help fund our growth: www.essehouse.co.uk/donate
Just two weeks until EsseCamp: Isle of Arran '26 and we are making our final preparations to proceedings, which will include some great food, beautiful scenery, and group activities. We have even partnered with WellnessWalks to deliver a guided hike up to the tallest point of the island, Goatfell.
Keys collected! 🔑 We have successfully taken on our first property in what will be a portfolio of affordable social housing for trans and non-binary people, based in Scotland. 🏴 Renovations start soon. Anyone handy with a hammer or paintbrush? 🎨 🔨

Continuing with our organisational aim to provide support and opportunity which increase the baseline of trans experience: We are launching a remotely accessible educational pilot for those bullied out of school by rhetoric and policy. Read more: essehouse.co.uk/the-esse-hou...
Are you Non-Binary and sick of being forced into explicitly gendered spaces? Trans, and want a way to avoid issues at work, or have a safety net in case you are in a hostile situation? We have an imperfect solution that could make your life easier: www.essehouse.co.uk/pee-in-peace-program
We hate this scheme as much as you all do. It's jarring to take in, and if you perceive it as giving up, will trigger annoyance. We get it. We arent saying give up. We are saying "can you imagine a scenario where you might need one?" Stay safe.
Pick your own schedule and join our experienced voice coach for video and audio online sessions, introducing you to the techniques and processes for altering your voice, in a fun communal setting. Starting at just £5/session. Register here: essehouse.co.uk/register-for...
If it wasn't for people like Suzanne Moore, we wouldn't exist... Why would there need to be an organisation that furthers the available opportunities and safety of trans people if nobody was trying to isolate and degrade them?
