As a child, I intuited I'd come from a purer, deeper place than this world but had no words to speak of it. I already knew the memory would fade; the sense of loss was profound. Field of vision implies something outside you, but there's no such thing. Rather, it is your expansiveness, your own extended field of being. The eye is merely an aperture, and your luminosity flows in both directions through it. Vision isn't confined to biology: it is light, pervading everywhere.
