It was a camel cricket! Camel crickets get their name because of their slightly humpbacked appearance. Their long legs give them a spider-like appearance. They are harmless to humans and pets.
🎁 Today’s gifts from my cat (so far) include a dragonfly and this big fat millipede 👇 She captures them alive in her catio and presents them to me. Yesterday she brought in two skinks and a moth.

My cat brought this indoors from the catio. I thought it was a mouse, but it had a pointy nose and didn’t seem to have eyes! Found out it’s a Northern short-tailed shrew, the ONLY VENOMOUS ANIMAL in North America. It has a bite that delivers a neurotoxin causing intense pain & swelling 👀
I found this very cute frog or toad in my front yard, so I took his portrait. I’ll bet he never had his portrait taken before.
I think my cat brings them inside so they can’t escape. Skinks, toads, mice, moths, snakes, whatever gets into the catio ends up in the house! I have a recue kit ready(tupperware and leather gloves), but can’t save them all. Thanks for sharing your video.
My cat caught a skink on the catio yesterday and brought it inside to her play rug to “play” with it, as she does with all her victims. I managed to rescue this one. Does anyone else’s cat bring live creatures in the house?
