Bikes and dogs and such. Here to collect fuel for my strongly worded emails. #CovidCautious and need more community so hmu 😷
Old man in the woods. (Not long after this I got us lost and almost had to carry him. I had to fight the panic. He’s 50lbs. He’s teaching me so much about getting old. Like just dealing with shit and sitting down for a bit.)
My eyes are doing that weird film thing that has me concerned it’s going to be an early allergy season. If you’re out killing ragweed, consider also destroying this lambsquarters that is likely also ravaging you in fall. Thanks.
Hanging on by my last thread here. Taking the rest of the day off so I can sleep and then table at a community event.
Let’s try this again without my name: I think seeing how a person alley cats is probably a fun look into their brain.
I for one listen to our beloved Bluesky meteorologist. How lucky am I that this is a quick plan B close to home. Watched it come in, the updraft just about knocked us over, and we pedaled home in a downpour but no hail!
Did I just get got? A nice young man selling books to raise college tuition stopped me. First he handed me a cookbook and I was going to buy that but was curious what else he had and he handed me this book and said he really liked this one. The title immediately raised some flags. Then I flipped 1/
Another low quality picture to announce we have babies so big that they can’t hide anymore! I wonder if the mom just moves out once that happens, and that’s why she’s been gone most of the time. As you can tell, I’m not researching this because I want to see what I learn just observing.
Bluetooth would be cool but not necessary. I just feel like I can get better sound out of these than my current record/tape/radio tower bought at Kmart in 1988. But I have no idea, really.
Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks. This agile creature is like 14 years old.
Halfway across Marshall, bike in one hand an my post ride ice cream ENTREE in the other, the desire overcame me and I went face first into this bowl like a dog. In front of all the rush hour traffic. I hope that got everyone’s weekend off on the right foot.
I haven’t been able to enjoy movie nights on the porch the last couple years because of excessive heat and wild fire smoke. This weather is wonderful. My dog even moreso. Movie: All Light, Everywhere
Going through piles of bike stuff I’ve been slowly creating for a “some day” sale and found the trucker hat stash. They’ve been in the bin so long I think I changed my mind on the sram one. Like shopping in my basement. And hell yeah Volvpac 🤘
I liked seeing that higher up bright white cloud sitting still while the lower grayer clouds slowly move in. Contrast is always pretty.
Me, with my ear buds in, enjoying a white claw in my south facing chair, reading Bluesky with alarm and confusion.
At a med apt check-in I was directed to sign on one of those little e-sign dongle things. They said “sign on that, you’re signing your ROI”. I asked if they were going to show me what I was signing. It took two people to figure out a plan and they printed it off for me. This is getting out of hand.
I am both enthralled and concerned by what appears to be a mass relocation of an ant colony from under my patio. They have pushed up through many points between my patio blocks, spanning about ten feet, and are all moving the same direction with what I assume are eggs. Is this concerning?
I’m going through my camp food and this is good for two more years, and it’s already been in the bin a while. I don’t know where I’ll find such an amazing selection now that they took the Midway Cub from us.
I was dying most of the time and felt slow, this was only my second real *ride of the year. I’m already averaging 1.5 miles faster than my best last year. And I walked up Marshall at the end because I left it all on the field 🙌 MPLS detours giving sprint climbs like I needed.
Success! I faced my fear and it worked without issue. No sealant explosion! Super easy and now my favorite bike is ready for mountain bike party next weekend. ♥️ 🚵♂️ Now I need to ride all week to get this body ready 😅
I have a low sun yard, and I am so happy my peony finally bloomed for the first time. I planted it a few years ago. They just needed some time. And check out the Sedum I split last fall. It decided to be a single hulking stem.
She did such a good job making her nest look like part of the tree. I watched her apply countless little bits to get the right finish. Amazing work. I wish I could give you a better picture.
🚨 A hummingbird is making a nest outside of my bedroom window! These picture are taken through binoculars so they’re not great but I have a crystal clear view. I am so delighted by this. I’m never leaving my bed.
One of my new Signal Friends had just moved to MN in November. She said she wanted to start biking so I put some spare bobbles on this bad boy. It’s been waiting for a purpose in my garage. Flowers in sidewalk cracks and such.
I recently told someone about how my grandpa’s autobody shop was originally in a cave on Wabasha and they wondered if he was maybe mobbed up. I’d never thought that. But I just asked my mom and she told me this crazy story about a poker game that got robbed. Highlights include: they took hostages,
My dog loves the water, but he just stands around like a bear waiting for a fish to jump into his mouth.
