I'm British/European. Want to be back in the EU. Semi retired civil servant. Spent 17 years living in, working in and loving Brussels. Localisation & Translation Professional.
I imagine Deborah Birx, the American physician and diplomat squirming in her seat during that clip, might volunteer to do the injections into trump.
here's one that changed jobs from cleaning to delivery and couldn't take it anymore.
The manosphere industry sector just took a big hit. Andrew Tate (42 UK charges. list in ALT text) Tristan Tate (17 UK charges) Romanian charges have not gone away either.
he's making a speech at 1635. Liz Truss is the warm up act (that's not a joke she starts at 1605). Laila cunninghamm reforms london mayoral canididate. spoke earlier.
still makes me chuckle that "a bunch of unelected busibodies in brussels" was a key LEAVE campaign slogan.
A time traveller visiting England from 1880 will feel very at home with how politics works there Roland.
Lols @ "niallism". Just remember he does not represent any views of anyone inside the EU commission or other. Truth is the UK economy can't meet the maastricht criteria for joining the Euro anyway. Outside the SM there is no growth. Eurozone members WANT to keep the british pound Out!
you're right and the way Barnier frames it is clever. Put simply: the maastricht criteria to join the Euro cannot be met by the British economy for another 5-10 years, minimum. Public debt is 100% of GDP and the cost of borrowing worse than 2008.
I'm no body language expert, but, is that not a "I Surrender" gesture?
There's also the other question "does England want to keep NI in the UK?". A region that costs taxpayers £13-15b p.a. The Vote for the Windsor Framework recently in the House of Commons, against the wishes of British Unionists in NI, was 515 to 29.
pointing the finger across the pond criticising the US setup while we have a 19th century version of feudalism is a tad rich Alan. We're a laughing stock.
yes, I hear all of Europe is in awe of the transport system, NHS health service, water system, booming sunlit uplands economy and 21st century form of democracy.
"When leader of the Reform Limited and took a gift of £5m from a wealthy crypto guy, I told everyone my phone was hacked by Moscow".
Daniel Hannan promised a "third pillar EEA" before brexit. Where the UK could access the single market without membership. there's no chance of a "third pillar EEA". the EU third pillar is about judiciary & policing. nothing to do with trade.
he GB "news" presenter looking through his notes as Tannock rattles off all the things brexit promised that didn't come true 👇
I haven't heard the song but Starmer and ukgov supports israels actions Andy. Turning a blind eye to what's going on in Gaza is not a good look.
this is disgraceful behaviour by @nialloconghaile.bsky.social who blocked @pimlicat.bsky.social so she has no chance to respond to his insults. I've reported it to @support.bsky.team please do the same.
that's like debating cherry picking large or small cherries. truth is, neither deal is available. There are r/w parties all across Europe feeding off anti migrant & anti eu populism. If it was possible to leave the EU and join the SM, it would lead to chaos. Niall means well but is wrong.
he often talks about a "third pillar eea" for the UK. i.e. accessing the EES/SM via a special swiss style deal. There is a "EU third pillar" but it's about policing & justice, nothing to do with trade.
those unicorns are still being presented today. I disagree with Niall who thinks it is possible to cherry pick access now. After the CH-EU deal, the EU is moving swiftly away from bespoke deals. Iceland joining EU as a full member means EFTA is at an end too, pretty much.
I agree with this. Misinformation is a real problem. Some claim the UK can cherry pick custom "third pillar EEA" access to the EU single market - Daniel Hannans dream brexit - but don't realise the implications. It hugely devalues EU membership.
for someone who claims to have worked in journalism for many years, you appear very relaxed when challenged over integrity. Jokey even, in a condescending way. not a good look for you or for the @eastangliabylines.co.uk
it's one thing doing that online...quite another for a publication to present him as someone "in a position to know". That elevates it from opinion piece to "expert" piece. this a/c claims to commission articles from him and has provided me the @eastangliabylines.co.uk editors contact details. 👇
