🏮 Obon is one of Japan's most important traditional holidays. It is usually celebrated from August 13–16, although some regions observe it in mid-July due to differences between the traditional lunar and modern solar calendars.
🏔️ Today, the people of Japan celebrate their mountains. Mountains cover nearly 80% of the country's land area. As a result, they have played an important role in Japan's culture, history, and spiritual traditions. Mountain Day (山の日) became a national public holiday relatively recently. ⛩️
