This is me with the Showcat and Rosemary who has written the Kirkcaldy EuroWalk and was leading the walk for its launch. The Showcat is in tribute to the Kirkcaldy Links Market, traditionally Europe's longest Street fayre !

Kirkcaldy EuroWalk was launched today! Fab walking tour led by historian & walk writer Rosemary. Provost Jim Leishman cut the ribbon & gave an inspiring talk. Lots about Ingolstadt, the twin town. More to come but these pics give a flavour @fife4europe.bsky.social @festivalofeurope.bsky.social

Interesting event this weekend in Glasgow about Rudolf Hess in Kelvinside Parish Church at 11am. We feature the landing spot to the south of Glasgow on the West of Scotland EuroTour at www.eurowalks.scot. And there is also a connection at the ruined Buchanan Castle near Drymen !

Went to the Smith Art Gallery and Museum today in Stirling. Lots of interesting local history items on display and some top quality beautiful paintings. This was just one of many exhibits. Ten paintings of German towns and places by a young German PoW Otto Laub
An interesting wee snippet from the Cafe d'Jaconelli exhibition at Maryhill Burgh Halls that I went to see yesterday. History of Italian migration to Scotland &of the Italian cafes in Glasgow which were also found elsewhere across Scotland. Not a large exhibition but lots of interesting bits to read

I went to the Tall Ships Races last weekend in Aberdeen. A great weekend! The ships are now arriving at their next stop, Kristiansand in Norway We were able to go on three ships & meet the crew. Had a trip to Inchcolm Island and Inchcolm Abbey today on the Forth, south of Burntisland. We took a ferry from Hawes Pier at South Queensferry. Lots of interesting history. Saw puffins, seals and numerous other seabirds. Lucky enough to get a half hour of sunshine ! Not bad for this summer so far !
While visiting Glasgow School of Art (GSA) degree show I learned about Captain Eugène Bourdon (1870-1916) who was the first Professor of Architectural Design at GSA & was killed on the Somme in 1916. From an exhibition that was held at Glasgow School of Art in 2016: gsaarchives.net/2016/11/euge...
