Elora has had a vendetta against closed doors every since she was a teeny kitten. We were a busy household, with a large dog and two small kids. I'd shut her in our master bathroom when I couldn't supervise her. This was, obviously, THE WORST.
After I accidentally knocked this guy off, with him catching his leg on the metal bar of a table, I was just about ready to cry. But I got his leg back together and reattached yesterday (first two photos). Today I've got it sanded and primed. SUPER humid, so I'll let the primer set until tomorrow.
A quick wip of the tonal dachshund I'm doing under Bonny Snowdon's classes. He'll be on pause this weekend for virtual Breyerfest (I'm taking two virtual workshops!). I'm enjoying plotting out sketchy shapes in. Ref photo: Pexels Hot Press paper, India red polychromos pencil. Melted brain.
Another colored pencil study from Bonny Snowdon done! The focus on this study is building colors and layers up in a cat eye. The next lesson actually IS on line weight, so I'm really excited to work on that. Photo ref: Pexels Paper: Fabriano Artistico Pencils: Polychromos
My mom's birthday is today. We got to hang out yesterday. Please enjoy these photos of my furblings, Bella (upside down Aussie) and Mollywobbles (Persian calico upset at me for stopping petting her in order to take a photo).
Went "shopping" in my yarn stash and grabbed these two skeins. Time to knit! PS - they have some cashmere in them and are SO soft!
Little bandana/kerchief I made recently. Yarn: Yarn Dragon Fibers Glitter Sock in Iris (75% sw extrafine merino, 15% nylon, 10% silver stellina) Pattern: Birdfeeder by Bongayaq Just a fun little piece in purples, yellows, greys, and whites with a hint of sparkle.
Well here we go. I've been wanting to up my colored pencil game, so I've started taking classes from Bonnie Snowdon's Ignite program. This first little square is a tutorial on short fur. I love the texture I achieved and felt like I understood more as the tutorial progressed. Photo credit: Pixabay
While I was getting stuff sorted in the craft room, I found this shawl. I vaguely remember making it. ._. I don't know what pattern or yarn I used, though it's definitely a wool-based yarn. So have a mystery shawl. xD
Me: Yeah, it should be fine to put the art books on top of the new shelf. Raven: Hello what is this? Me: Oh no. Nonono. Raven: *Ravens* Me: Well, we won't be doing that after all, I suppose.
Currently on the needles: I actually have quite a few neglected WIPs on the needles, but here's what I've been working on recently! This is the Glowhair Frost Shawl by WestKnits. It uses 3 colors, each in two kinds of yarn - one a lace weight mohair/silk blend and one a fingering superwash wool.
Did I mention I've been REALLY bad about posting my knitting projects? This is a deep cowl pattern by Wonderland Yarns called Birches. Yarn: Wonderland Tour of the Season Oct 2024 - 55% fine sw merino, 15% silk, 15% baby alpaca, and 15% donegal
I've still been knitting! I just haven't been posting. We'll start with the Copilot cowl. This cowl can be worn simply over the head or wrapped! It's a mesh that allows the yarn to truly shine. The yarn that I have forgotten what it is. :< It's a nice fingering weight superwash wool, though.
The stickers from @raxellia.bsky.social have arrived, and my lap full of stickers has been emptied. VERY happy kiddos (and me!)
I am in love all over again. Amalthea was my first serious TTRPG character. With inspiration from The Last Unicorn, I created Amalthea's character sheet as a wild elf paladin of freedom - a unicorn rider. I never had a visual idea for her. @nekrokat.bsky.social has brought her to life beautifully.
Raven was absolutely obsessed with the curtains (moreso than normal). I checked after taking this picture and put the ladybug that was on the other side back outside where they belong.
Lest you think I've abandoned knitting, I've simply been working on a HUGE project - this poncho. This is Buku Yarn's 2025 Advent project and advent kit, and it was an absolute delight to knit. I may have been a smidge self-indulgent and bought Last Unicorn buttons to use on it.
Had fun painting this guy up! Sculpt is by Carola Funder Printed by Tallman 3D Art Painted in acrylics
Made a pretty little unicorn display thing (that's the technical term). She has a little bit of a lean to her, and I might have Py help me fix that. BUT for now she is finished in all her glory. Sculpt is by Breathtime Print is by Tallman 3D Arts Painting and base decoration is by me
I painted my first horse mini! This is a stablemate scale model cobb, designed by breathtime and printed by Tallman3D. He'll represent my D&D Curse of Strahd character's horse, Lepke.
I'm just starting to dip my toes back into the creek of sketching, but I enjoy portrait studies and silly little things. Happy birthday!
A couple of pages of eye studies from @sylessae.bsky.social's portrait study bootcamp.
Many, many thanks to @mischi.art for helping me celebrate the birthday of my friend, husband, and partner, @pyrulen.bsky.social
I'd love to see Shalryn in your style (art by Nekrokat and Mischi) I'll give @steppelightly.bsky.social and @geminiswede.bsky.social a tag!
Here, enjoy Raven being Raven (I certainly do). (PS - the yarn shop owner who gave me this bookshelf is always DELIGHTED to see Raven's shenanigans upon it.)
My night elf priestess, Evalonne, is a dps at heart, though she's an additional healer in a pinch. My raid group would also classify her as the raid prankster. Art by Nekrokat and Mischi
