Fifth research flight for the #CCFLUX campaign ☑️ Target were the forests in the Eifel region to measure biosphere-atmosphere exchange of stressed and less-stressed forests, and another comparison with wind measurements of the UAS systems from @unituebingen.bsky.social
Our flight to the Netherlands got a lot of public attention and even made it to the Dutch 8 o’clock TV news! We flew comparison legs over the Loobos @icos-ri.eu tower with a PTR-MS from @utrechtuniversity.bsky.social. #CCFLUX @fz-juelich.de @fzj-ice3.bsky.social
…with uncrewed aerial systems from colleagues at Uni Tübingen as part of @unicologne.bsky.social‘s #VITALII campaign we validate the Zeppelin wind measurements.
We are also using our flights for comparison measurements, for example over an @icos-ri.eu tower (Wüstebach) where colleagues from @kit.edu installed their PTR-MS, and…
In today’s #CCFLUX research flight, we saw climate change at work with drying rivers and lakes, and forests that looked as if autumn was already here. One of the reasons for our measurements: to better understand forest-atmosphere exchange in climate stress! @fz-juelich.de @unicologne.bsky.social
The Zeppelin is back from our first research flight over industry and cities in the Ruhrgebiet! #CCFLUX @fz-juelich.de @fzj-ice3.bsky.social @unicologne.bsky.social
Excited for our Zeppelin airship campaign #CCFLUX that will start soon co-led with @ggkatzelis.bsky.social. Today we integrated all our racks in the airship's gondola... and in a few days we'll fly to measure air pollutant precursors over North-Rhine Westphalia! @fzj-ice3.bsky.social @fz-juelich.de
“alles wird gut!” Hoffe dieser Zug verspricht nicht zu viel. #bahnhumor @bahnansagen.bsky.social
Looking forward to inspiring interdisciplinary projects in my upcoming 5 years in the @jungeakademie.bsky.social! This 1st weekend was already incredibly stimulating with discussions on science-democracy relations, freedom of research, & our responsibility. www.diejungeakademie.de/de/presse/ne...
Group picture of the Biogenic Emissions Group at #EGU26! So proud of my PhD students for great presentations. @fzj-ice3.bsky.social
The possible answers to this question from german.millermanschool.com explain in a nutshell most of the intercultural misunderstandings I had when living in the US. Took me a while to figure out that such phrases mean (almost) nothing! 😂
What a lovely present from a wonderful colleague. Excited for our 2026 Zeppelin campaign CC-FLUX!
#ichbinhanna
It was a pleasure to present today at the @igacproject.bsky.social #GEIA Global Emissions Initiative Conference in Abidjan the great work of my PhD student Biplob Dey on stress impacts on biogenic #VOC emissions resulting from our chamber study at @fzj-ice3.bsky.social! 🧪
Today, I had my inaugural lecture as a new junior professor at #UniKoeln! It was great fun to talk to a wider audience about why we do atmospheric chemistry research. (Sadly, the university doesn’t seem to be on Bluesky yet!)
Nice views along the river Inn on the #Train2EGU ride. The train is completely full, many people with and without poster rolls talking about the conference in many languages- it feels good to be part of a scientific community that uses climate-friendly travel options. :)
Soon getting on my #train2EGU headed to Vienna! If you’re also at #EGU25 tomorrow and interested in #environmentaljustice join us in session AS4.10! I’ll present on demographically unequal distribution of hazardous #VOC emissions & concentrations in Los Angeles. @egu.eu
From this month, I’m starting a joint junior professorship between @fz-juelich.de and University of Cologne. Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this possible by their support!
The @ametsoc.bsky.social annual meeting is coming up next week! I feel honored to be invited to present (remotely) about temperature-dependent #VOC emissions in Los Angeles in the session "Regional Air Quality" on Monday. Maybe see you there! #AMS25 ams.confex.com/ams/105ANNUA...
