Very few things feel as good as being at the Peak of Mount Stupid when you're learning something new. Mount Stupid is such a fun phase of learning.
The Saga of the Big Stick is never ending. We're 2 weeks in. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO GET THIS THING WATERLOGGED ENOUGH TO SINK??
Wrote down a Shakespeare quote to look up in the funniest possible place
My insomniac, back-injured, brother apparently door dashed 86$ worth of donuts and kolaches from Shipley's at 509am and then must have finally fallen asleep because my Mom just found a pile of donut boxes on the front doorstep and a squirrel going to town on an apple fritter
She's got her booty in the water but can't get her titties in at the same time (relatable)
Boiling my Big Stick for the aquarium refresh I'm planning to help remove the tannins and get it waterlogged enough not to float. I do not own a big enough pot.
Historian of religion @kkdumez.bsky.social has been talking about his lack of actual credentials for a long time - but I want someone to blow up his spot for being someone who isn't actually considered a minister by his OWN DENOMINATION kristindumez.substack.com/p/false-prop...
He created a denomination, installed himself in power, and then ignored the entire constitution of that denomination! The CREC Constitution demands that the Presbytery must be made up only of ordained men, it requires that these ordained pastors be listed each year, & DW is listed but NOT ordained
Apparently, I'm nearly dead. Anemia friends, I can't get in to talk to my doc about infusions for 6 weeks. If anyone has tips/tricks for getting iron levels up (esp without wrecking your GI tract) please share. I'm soliciting medical advice from the Internet.
New art! As my collection grows with the monthly art print club I plan to swap my favorite 5 into this spot because it faces my bar stool where I sit most of the time. Eventually I want enough seasonal foods to swap them out throughout the year
This is my favorite picture of my Mom and I together in years.
Me and my bff guessing about it before we listen to the ep... I feel like there's gonna be more to it than this though...
Fillet mignon (that I butchered myself from a whole beef tenderloin from Costco), an arugula/roasted cherry/cheddar/pistachio salad, and home fries cooked in beef tallow. She is beauty, she is grace
Today's hair scarf + my dangly cherry earrings and a red lippy
I developed this mac recipe last summer and please peep how BEAUTIFULLY it reheats from frozen? I put some in Souper Cubes in the freezer of a friend going through some health stuff and she just sent me this picture:
Okay. Maybe so, but it's a fun chaotic. I spend so much time in here, I like to have things to look at
I've got a weird cut out in the ceiling of my kitchen and I'm going to hang them all around the perimeter
Last winter I signed up for an art print club called The Baker's Dozen where for 7$ each month Maura K Spain will mail you a food-themed fine art print she painted that month. I just finished matting and framing my first batch and I'm SO STOKED with how they turned out!!
IT ACTUALLY WORKS! Best 7$ I've spent in a LONG time! (Now I just have to figure out where to set it up for real)
Do I have any Artsy Mutuals who can explain something to me? Both of these paintings are credited as Edvard Munch's "The Sun" -- seemingly interchangeably. WHICH ONE IS IT? Are they BOTH called the same thing? They're very obviously different! I want a print of the one on the right.
I thrifted my first stereo system/CD player last week, and I'm working on getting all the cables and such that I need to set it up, and my inner 14yo is just LOVING this because I never had more than a Discman growing up. IT HAS LIGHTS THAT CHANGE COLORS
I got a little 6$ solar powered fountain thingy off Tiktok because my mom LOVES fountains, and it came this morning, and she's spent the last 2hrs playing with the different settings and rearranging the patio so it gets the most amount of sun (since it won't run without direct sunlight)
THIS is the kind of enthusiasm I'm looking for when I have a sudden culinary brain wave
