Critic of comics who might love too many things
Oh yeah I forgot John Bryne is the reason Carrie Kelly exists
Remember every time you read a English translated manga you have Frank Miller’s ex girlfriend to thank.
We reach one of the most important turning points for Frank…..the moment he became a weeb
Now we get to the famous death. This one I often struggle to talk on because some people view it as a fridging moment but hearing Frank talk on it he clearly wanted to write a story that mattered and ended. Which for comics creators is not something all characters enjoy.
All right now we have some juicy history on how he created Elektra with him Being very honest of trying to ape Will Eisner.
This is an interesting bit of commentary on what Frank thinks makes a good comic and brings up issues I see various people about writing bs art, I think Frank makes a good point that comic need to be engaging art, but like anything you do what works for you
Oh hello 9/11 good to see you join us but I know it won’t be the last time
Ah finally the thing everyone says made Frank miller crazy the first time….god I haven’t even touched his 9/11 era yet
The story of Frank Miller first job in New York. Of course Frank miller was working with a guy working with the mafia
All right nuggets time not sure if this was said in an interview before but now we kind of see a lot of DD elements he brought in kind of came or were relegated to his dad. Not shocked but it’s something that brings those elements full circle
Time….for a FUCKING ADORABLE FRANK MILLER STORY! That is so cute!
Frank getting criticism from Neal himself, boy does Frank romanticize the hell out of it.
Remember even Frank Miller was a young 20 something who didn’t eat right…
Guess whose book I have! Now time to pull some choice quotes I’m sure!
“Hello I’m Joe Quesada, I just want to say One More Day cured cancer, it’s the reason we have the MCU and why Marvel action figures have more than five points of articulation. It’s the best graphic novel next to Watchmen, Alan Moore told me that before saying I’m his best friend”
*Supergirl failing at the box office *she’s right once again….
there are flaws and nitpicks I can make, like how the finale JUMPED to a certain thing but I TADC is a mostly good character study of people being trapped and forced to confront who they are and how their sins ultimately destroyed them. A pure tragedy I'm glad I saw play out.
Watching it all together I feel like there is enough foreshadowing and LOGICAL end points that the series had planned, I think if you take what the show gives you, you get a very tight written little show that gives you wiggle room to interpret characters deeper
Finished all of TADC and it's hell of finale, I have issues with some of the writing, I think the forced WE are not these character archetype shit said in dialogue takes away from the drama a bit because I think character work is GOOD enough you don't have to make that point.
Shockingly we actually do have prior examples of this in history Dragon Quest was so popular Enix made it start to release on the weekend to avoid having this issue of kids or adults skipping their work just to play it.
I’m so glad that Amazing Spider-Man #1000 is built around Spider-man’s cousin….Gus Beezer! I mean who else could it be?
