In other unfortunate observations of the passage of time, it really has been seven years since I bought my 124 Spider. Excellent decision, it makes everyday driving fun and road trips transcendent. Buy a small sports car.

I want one of those globe radios. The Voice of America broadcast station was really cool too. They were able to acquire it when the setup was going to be scrapped and in the museum it plays old VoA audio too as it it were broadcasting during the Cold War.
Earlier today at the Communication Technologies Museum. Telegraph, radio, TV, cell phones, and various technologies in between. Pretty neat place, and a huge collection. Probably catnip for @jaythurber.bsky.social
Overcast skies yesterday but the lake was comfortable to swim and lounge around by.
Windmills are neat and they made the view of this part of the Finger Lakes region have something special. I've seen plenty of them but it's generally been in larger clusters or on top of higher mountain ridge lines. Scattered among hills all over like these was new to me.
I refernce Abominable Intelligence a lot but I do wish so many Warhammer references weren't so apt with this brainmelting technology.

Well that's an appropriate poem as I turn my fish calendar a few hours early. 土用 being days of strong heat or like the Dog Days of Summer. I could go for some grilled unagi regardless of the heat though.
I've always been a free trade proponent but by the end of this I'm going to be so radically pro-trade and anti-regulation it'll make the 1990s triumphalists blush.
My dedicated running shoes, Asics TRI 13s, have that thicker sole but if it's only for running I can live with it. They're also beautifully LOUD. I bought them regardless of looks because clearance priced but the look really grew on me.
Finding my way to the Fujiwara Takumi/Corvette Dad shoe brand because I wanted some summer all around casual shoes that DON'T have a sole a meter thick like I'm wearing 70s platform disco shoes. New Balance had one (1) type with a thin by current standards sole so here I am.
