A Bicycle Trip. It is a delightful run from Vancouver to Steveston, there being only one hill to climb. The air is fragrant with perfume from rose bushes that adorn the country gardens, and from the clover just now in bloom. At Steveston you are assured of everything being first-class at the Sockeye Hotel. Harry Lee, Proprietor. The most fastidious cyclist will enjoy an outing here.

I smell the sea and that lovely summer smell of dried grass in the sun. It’s quite warm but there’s a cool breeze off the water. I saw three little crabs in a tide pool fighting over an empty shell. (Lighthouse Lane Park, Bowen Island)
