Some of my writing:
As part of what I've dubbed #hothellenistsummer I'm currently reading Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. Excellent play, truly the king of dramatic irony and all that, but this passage raises some questions.
Just finished OCUMO: A LATIN AMERICAN NOVEL, and with the disclaimer that I know the author I have some quick thoughts
Good quarter for books by author friends. Very excited to finally recive my copy of Terrestrial by @suzyeynon.bsky.social. Alas I'm currently re-reading The Odyssey in preparation for the Nolan adaptation, so on the pile they both go.
It's turning out to be a good year for books by writer friends. Here we have a sociological story about a place told through the pov of a multitude of characters. Very interesting to read. I'm also eagerly awaiting Terrestial, which should be arriving any day now.
My dad called, asked if he could come over. When he did he pulled this out of his pocket, handed it to me, then just left
I tried to pet him but he thought hand was more useful as a pillow (unfortunately hand was needed for essay writing)
Convincing you to read my short story with the first sentence. Share yours if you want. (Opening line of ''The Desecration of City Hall,'' which you can read here: medium.com/after-the-st...)
Went on a mini road trip to an old castle in northern Scania today. The walls and bastions have been torn down, and the moat mostly filled in but the main building is from the 1700s.
Party at my place tonight, and I decided to produce a little teaser trailer for it
Finished this atmospheric collection a while back, and the contents are as good as the cover
Appreciating the wonderful and terrible lengths man will go to still his anxiety about mortailty; the wars for no true cause, the awe-inspiring monuments to nothing, with the boys
Contemplating the military and socio-economic significance of the Rhine, with the boys
I think it's funny that the existence of this very post is the best argument against itself. Unregulated markets create grotesquely wealthy individals who can dominate media to push their personal agendas, undermining democracy and freedom
