Whale milk comes out about the consistency of warm butter, so that it does not disperse immediately in the water. Whales don’t have nipples, but instead flaps that a baby pushes its nose into to nurse. Apparently whale milk tastes of something like fish and motor oil. You’re all terribly welcome.

the bab’s first vet checkup since being in the hospital and she was an absolute champ 💚
Today my senior dog absolutely crushed a beef knuckle, and trotted around for hours after with bits of marrow in her floof, breathing hotly on anything that moved and smelling heinously of beef. She is the Beeflord, a smell terrorist. I love her so much. 💚
@on-together.bsky.social has been such a wonderful gift for our international group of frens to hang out in a way that reminds me of the best parts of college. lookit our lil pack of queers and deers! 💚

after four nights in the hospital, the bab is finally released. still got a ways to go in recovery, but i think she’s as happy to be home as i am to have her back 💚
