By working closely with film collectors, former industry professionals, and their families, the Film is Fabulous! team have been granted access to film collections, many of which contain unique film and television items.
Film is Fabulous! has stated its key objective: To advance and to encourage public interest, education and training in film as a medium, especially its role within British culture.
The Film is Fabulous! team continue to assist elderly film collectors, former industry professionals, and their estates. It is an enormous amount of work, which requires empathy, intelligence, and clearly defined ambitions.
Of course, many of these film collections contain missing and rare material, which is culturally important. Their preservation should be a priority. This is the opinion of the enthusiasts and volunteers at Film is Fabulous!
Sadly, even now, when elderly collector’s pass away many collections are too challenging for the family members or estates to manage. The films and equipment are viewed as expendable, when properties are cleared.
Preserving Vulnerable Films Film is Fabulous! was established in the aftermath of COVID to help elderly film collectors, and former industry professionals, who had amassed large collections which, for various reasons, had become vulnerable.
