@findlatergroup
Professor of Chemistry at the University of California at Merced; Currently serving as Interim Dean of the School of Natural Sciences... officially unofficial... opinions may be the ravings of a mad Titan / PI. He/His
@pauldauenhauer.bsky.social was sure you’d be the author of this piece!
Doing touristy things! Poured by my very own hand at the Guinness Storehouse
Picked up a few new books from local independent bookstores here in Merced and farther afield in Modesto… excited to dive in
Saw this at the other place… here’s what worries me, “imagine how much money…” why would you need to imagine, it’s literally in the post you shared! 260,000 x $8 x days of operation… even scarier though? All the people writing nonsensically incorrect answers below the post!
Yall won’t believe it, but the Dept of Ag just dropped a new bombshell report that they are now advising against eating turkey at Thanksgiving. Consumers should focus on beef and chicken only. Authors of the study (pictured below) could not be reached for comment
Celebrating our amazing staff @ucmerced.bsky.social without whom none of this would work! Pictured here is our own Natural Sciences Lolo Cardenas being recognized for 25 years of service @uofcalifornia.bsky.social
I love my faculty - couldn’t ask for a more talented and dedicated group of world class researchers, teachers and colleagues.
Most Dean days are pretty frickin’ stressful lately… but then I get to do stuff like this! Beam signing ceremony for our new Medical Education building, first step towards our Med School!
literally our TOC for one of our papers (heavily based on Ananikov's work:
Thrilled to help kick off research week! We’re so proud of the amazing faculty researchers on our campus - we got to hear from Sarah Loebman and Emily Jane McTavish… the take home message? The centrality of chemistry to all research 😉
my study section made it onto the federal register so should meet... that's gonna make the "not discussed" my grant receives all the more painful #wompwomp
Happy international day of women and girls in science! If only federal grants that included “women” weren’t being flagged then it would actually be “happy” today.
