Rocks in the polisher. Headed to the wash cycle between Stage 2 and 3! #rocktumbling #rockpolishing
I asked my brother to crack the nodules I'd picked up at a roadcut in Kentucky last month. Sadly, none of them had pyrite inside. But one had this silvery mineral instead? No idea what I'm looking at here. #rockhounding
Heard at least two painted buntings calling back and forth this afternoon ♥️💚💙
Rinsing Hogg Mine quartz on a cloudy day~ #rocktumbling #rockhounding
Sorted my various epidote rocks. All but one of these are hand-collected. Epidote's definitely a favorite mineral of mine! Not too rare, and such a nice green. #rocktumbling #rockhounding
Found the absolute best-smelling spearmint growing by the side of the creek tonight. Couldn't help myself. That smell's coming home with me. 🌿 (Don't worry, it's invasive here! And it will be potted, not planted in the garden.)
Oh hey, I can post videos again! Anyway, here's a lovely dolphin/whale vertebra from the oligocene, found by my husband in a local creek. #fossilhunting
Here's one. Took me a minute because I keep blocking the accounts sharing them
Found these in Kentucky recently. I love the little snails. #fossilhunting #FossilFriday
Every now and then, I get one of these cool blue-green russulas in the yard. I never pick any, though. 🍄
Succulents from my neighbor's lawn cuttings are absolutely thriving! They're taking over the barrel! 💜
A random chunk of amethyst the husband found while we were fossil hunting in a construction area. Must have been brought in with the filler gravel! #rockhounding
Jumping into Pokemon Infinite Fusion 2 even though I didn't finish the first one, lol
Went for a quick fossil hunt this afternoon and found this. Also, my husband found a random piece of amethyst? We're honestly baffled as to how it found its way to coastal SC. It will get its own post soon. #fossilhunting #FossilFriday
Been feeling unmotivated to take proper pics, but here's a video from the day I found my latest trilobite! #fossilhunting
A couple days ago, my neighbors caught too many redfish and my husband was first in line to claim them. Now I have four beautiful fish filets that are longer than my forearm!
We stopped at a spot to check for fossils in Kentucky. Instead, there were these iron-heavy nodules eroding out of a shale roadcut. I found several busted ones, but this one had pyrite inside! Hopefully some of the ones I collected will, too! #rockhounding
