Something intrigued me about these HP Sauce sachets. Can you see what? Can you explain?
This Google camera, mounted on a tall tripod on a vehicle roof, hooded and stationary, looks either weary but content or else exhausted and on the brink.
I’m not sure whether it’s the ‘advocates’ or the Guardian who seem to equate ‘instantaneous death’ with the brain ‘shutting down within seconds’. I don’t see how both can be true, unless brain function can outlast ‘death’. And normal nociception takes a fraction of one second, let alone ‘seconds’.
Here’s another dreary example from Hull. Planters with dead conifers. The depleted earth at their bases, I’m told, is regularly weeded. Ok then. They may belong not to the City Council but to the owners of PQ. Public funding has gone on this place too. What a boon. This form of waste is everywhere
Shown here is a new hedge and turf laid early 2026 in multiple-deprived #Hull. Horticulture this is not. That turf was never bedded in to take root. In the dry weather, it’s now severely compromised. Some of the hedge won’t make it either. It seems to me a terrible waste of ‘regeneration’ money.
Today’s reading. Concerning the borrowing of cabbages when times were hard and tummies empty.
Memorial window in #Hull Minster. The panel at the base reads: “In loving memory of J Cecil Watson Lieutenant Middlesex Reg. Killed in France 4th October 1917 aged 26” As this young man’s life ended, was he aware—however fleetingly—of the cause he died for?
Half marks only for this, DHL. The apostrophe is there and it’s in the right place, but that’s an opening single quotation mark, not an apostrophe. Thanks for using electrical vehicles, though. That’s the main thing!
My PRS SE semi-hollow in Blue Matteo. Great full open sound on the neck pickup, a little thin (unless overdriven) on the bridge. Light to wear. Always a joy to play!
Pretty sure this news will be being crafted into a ‘economy turning a corner under Labour’s astute leadership’ message in No.10. Feels awfully like “prices just can’t be pushed up even a penny further without people eyeing up their pets for nutritional value”.
Re 47’s beautification of the ‘Reflecting Pool’. Behold the blue-ification of Hull’s former Prince’s Dock. To protect the fish, someone explained. Meanwhile the fish—hefty carp—doze and drift sadly in their too-blue, vegetation- and feature-free pool. Deeply saddening, this malarkey.
It must be a design conundrum. What do you do when your car model has no need for frontal air cooling and a big radiator grille at the nose of the vehicle? Many e-cars have either a ‘pretend’ grille or a weird expanse of shape-preserving frontage with random geometric ‘features’. Designers?
Nope. In any case, rain is sure to follow. In fact it looks a bit like rain right now. Bless all those who forecast weather. For they shall inherit the Mirth.
The yellow-painted bridge (extreme right) over the river Hull in Hull commemorating John Venn (1834–1923), born in Hull, inventor of the Venn Diagram.
The Strait of Hullmuz. A handful of ships are getting through. Gravel, timber etc.
The mighty Humber Bridge over the mighty River Humber, Yorkshire/Lincolnshire border, eastern England.
england going to shit sort it out Stamer A cry for help featuring this hapless commonly misidentified target from someone in #Goole, a hollowed out and forgotten town of the North. Goole is replete with Union Jacks cable-tied to lamp-posts, so at least that should cheer folk up.
“No Ships On Map (Tap for Help)” Had you thought of tapping, Mister President?
Stasis. I reckon they should build a golden Colossus of Trump on the tippety tip of Jazira Musandam on the south of the Strait to celebrate the Greatness of his Warfighting and Negotiating Prowess.
Be good to hear from Bash Back themselves, wouldn’t it? I’d have thought they’d be following JM. They appear to have a BlueSky account …
