2 minute snippet from marsh warbler 2 #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
What I do is that I cut out some parts from a recording what I hear and sound "Ohh, this sounds interesting, I cut it out and see will the bird repeat it" I put the onomatopoeia into the filename so I know what it kinda sounds like, it's a hint :). Then i know is it same or new. This is MW2.
Now onto marsh Warbler 2! At first he sounded REALLY similar to MW1 but listening more, the specific mimicry combos start to stand out, making you able to tell this individual apart from MW1. I put some of these parts into this audio #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
That's how marsh warbler song looks like in "song blocks" He sings in these bursts, then pauses and starts another burst! All the sounds they do are mimics! Every single sound, from europe birds and africa birds! 2nd Image shows 1 chunk what has many mims! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
And why I call marsh warblers as "comedic nutty singers"? because of parts like these :D!! These cracked me UP when I heard them hahahahah! I LOVE them! Here is small compilation of some parts what made me ROFL #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026 #Marshwarbler
Here you can hear the repeated parts 2 different nights! 1st "nn nn" part done on 24 may. 2nd two "nn nn" parts sung on 25 may. 2. "Tumeni khäu". 1st from may 24, 2nd may 25. 3. Vööt vööt. 1st may 24, 2nd may 25. 4. both "tumeni khäu" and "vööt vööt" heard #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Sometimes this individual made almost 30 second long "song block!" I am impressed how he so quickly can switch between the mimicries! #birds #Marshwarbler #Nightsingers2026 #FlackoWeasel
That above video has 6 parts what stood out on this marsh warbler and when hearing his almost 2h recording, I notice he eventually repeats these mimicry combos! Instead of rhythm looking, here I look mimicry combos! Here is song snippet from marsh warbler 1 #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Looks like marsh warblers work same way like common blackbirds and Blyth's reed warblers when trying to ID them by song! Even tho they sound chaotic, they still follow some "rules" when they sing! Such as the "song block, pause" pattern when looking spectrogram #nightsingers2026 #FlackoWeasel #birds
Don’t play Hogwarts Legacy! Play Sonic 3 & Knuckles instead! (It has SUPER TAILS!!!)
So far I have recorded 64 HOURS of Blyth's Reed Warblers in 2026!!!!!!!!! This is the biggest hoard I have ever recorded!! I have BRW7 to go through (it was the worst quality version I left last to go through) MEGA satisfied #nightsingers2026 #FlackoWeasel #Blythsreedwarbler
Here is more inspiration :) Each onomatopoeia means a specific mimicry the bird does, so to me it is a really important data to know what mimicry the bird does! I also can see a pattern shares and mimicry sharing between MANY individuals!
Thank You truly for the last concert of the season!!! Thank YOU for still singing so I could get your song one more time ❤️. Love each one of you for making my 47 nights epic! You all were the motivation to go out and touch multiple types of grass! #birds #nightsingers2026 #FlackoWeasel
Probably my last run this season. I will do 3 more after Im back from con just to get 50 nights total. Last night I got BRW27 and heard 28th! I dunno if any birds sing in July.. this is my 47th night being out. #birds #nightsingers2026 #flackoweasel
BRW27 was found singing!! Few more individuals heard doing songs temporaly here and there. Season is mega over but few birds are still singing which is very lucky!!! I have 1 more night to do it before I am away on a con. #birds #flackoweasel #nightsingers2026
Hooooly shit at this talent! I am always blown away that THIS ONE BIRD is capable to do THESE rhythms out of other birds in Estonia! That right here is WHY I am obsessed of them! Hearing these bänger rhythms I had time of my life!! Only at night!!! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Corn crake singing on field! I hear more of them singing now. These were the only 2 types of bird and 1 BRW left singing at night. #birds #flackoweasel #nightsingers2026
Could not record any BRW tonight :(. Only 1 sang and it was not accessible area (my guess BRW26 relocated) I am so deeply sad :(. Knowing the season gonna end.... I did hear a river warbler in the same area I recorded one weeks ago #birds #flackoweasel #nightsingers2026
BRW26 snippet from my Tascam! I am amazed where did this guy come from because that one was first time heard on June 26, wayyy past the season o__O. Never heard it before June 26. I would of known as I was there most nights. #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Only BRW25 and BRW26 left singing by June 26. BRW22 and BRW24 both have stopped singing :( BRW26 on video #birds #nightsingers2026 #flackoweasel
omg BRW26!!! Was afraid its all over but there was new individual heard!!! Lucky RNG both that it was there and accessible location! I put recorder on thistle and I got HD recording #birds #nightsingers2026 #flackoweasel
BRW19 did a rhythm I asap recalled from 2021 Rick and 2023 Vippolo! It used similar samples but still DIFFERENT way but enough similar for me to recall similar rhythm! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
I remember things very well because I do this. That's how I recalled "ivister tutu ivister" asap bc that was stuck in my head a bit in 2025 by sounding catchy. I can recall rhythms from 2022, 2023 too if bird uses specific samples! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Aaand that's how I found out its same bird, by doing exactly this! I do song analysis for EACH BRW I record to find amazing rhythms. I have my own channel I deep dive into their songs, every part what sounds cool gets shown. Tuardy parts 2025. #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Here is another comparison and another PROOF that BRW songs are fingerprinted! Most rhythms match, ofcourse they can have slight variants but the main "assemble samples in specific way for a rhythm" is still same!! This can only be found out by recording them!! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Going through BRW20 audio, looks like this is Tuardy from 2025! He is 3rd bird who revisited me this year!!! When I heard him live his "Ivister tutu ivister" sounded really familiar and I had a feeling. Over 10+ rhythms match!! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
BRW25! I first thought its BRW23 because he sung in the same burdock area i heard BRW23. Turns out, it was new bird! No "Such an iidiot" part heard or "Jü ptserr jü vhit". I heard "Ps rüüvit psrüüvit" part and asap knew "i dont remember this on BRW23... #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
BRW 24! His distinctive ID rhythm is "Tuvuliiiu piskevää tip!" REALLY amazingly melodic!!!!!! I warblersitted that BRW to make sure he did not relocate and heard it live. He is another very talented highlight individual!! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
BRW 23! His ID rhythm is "Siisii viivjü" what sounds like "Such an iidiooot" and other was arquing like part "Jü ptserr jü vhit jü ptserr" That's how I always knew its him! #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
Here are Snippets from BRW22, BRW23, BRW24 and BRW25! You can clearly hear each individual has their own set of rhythms, that is how I tell them apart! Each bird has cues I always hear to know "ahaa its you!" BRW22, ID rhythm is "Ekkori iväär vhi" #birds #FlackoWeasel #Nightsingers2026
