Each year on International Towel Day we reflect on just how much more Douglas Adams would have laughed, largely but not entirely in frustration, at how much more ridiculous human beings have managed to make their own bloody world. We hope you all know where your towels are today. #TowelDay
This is a deeply niche observation, but the captain of Bradford City AFC (that’s a soccer club in England folks) is actually called Max Power. If you’re a Simpsons fan you’ll know this already, but there’s an episode where Homer legally changes his name to Max Power, which he got off a hair dryer.

Had a Fold OG lineup reunion yesterday & the BEST news: our OG bassist Ben finally got his transplants after 5 years of waiting & home dialysis. Operation was a complete success! We’re so happy for him. Possible reunion gig in 2027, if things aren’t too post-apocalyptic. Long live Ben & the #NHS ❤️
If oil (and gas) prices continue to rise like this for a sustained period of time, let’s say a month or more, the global economy may well collapse. This is no joke.
This Black Friday why not buck the trend and get yourself some delicious Fold vinyl? It’s subversive, dissenting and the man won’t even know you’re listening to it. There’s even a bundle with all 4 of our 12” releases for £35. fold.bandcamp.com/merch
Had a lovely time dropping underground 90s hip hop this morning on a crowd that was probably there for anything but 😂 Good vibes at the @nathbrudenell.bsky.social Record Fair. On until 3pm today! (NB the video’s from right before I came on. Clearly that’s not underground hip hop playing).
@bythebywater.bsky.social This inn has no real connection to Tolkien but felt like a good excuse to let you know how much I love your podcast. Listened to every single episode, some multiple times. The live evisceration of The Hobbit films is my 🥇 Each new episode makes my day, long may you continue
We’ve been waiting for this form of activism for a long time, how lovely to see it has finally arrived! Bravo @everyonehateselon.bsky.social 👏👏👏 ”Daily Mail ‘New True Edition’ — We blame migrants so you don’t blame billionaires.”
Good news: with the help of Leeds Youth Service we’re expanding our music production workshop into another neighbourhood after a little trial session. This area is considerably more neglected, troubled and underprivileged. The kids are brilliant, can’t wait to make some beats with them.
I actually managed some DJing last week at the Amity Brewery in Farsley, Leeds. Man it felt good. Our guitarist Sam & I used to have a residency at the Doghouse in Leeds for a few years before COVID. Missed it. Will be DJing again at The Brudenell Social Club Record Fair on Sun Nov 16th (10:30am 😱)
Blast from the past: this screengrab from one of our 10 year old mailouts shows the audio platforms that we were expected to promote back then, presumably in priority order. Who remembers Rdio and Emusic?
Quote a record that you found in your parents’ collection when you were young. And it remains a favourite today, how could it not?
Immediately (and very fondly) reminded of my Electronic Music Professor in university, the great Daria Semegen. Pictured here with her vintage Buchla that I had the privilege of tinkering on for many happy hours, most of them baked out of my mind. www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/musi...
Wonder if our second album cover—featuring a photograph taken at Manzanar by the great Ansel Adams—would be considered a negative historical interpretation?
‘Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule’ is now 3rd in the @amazingradio.com charts & 9th in the @amazingradio.us charts! That is… amazing! Thanks to all the listeners who made this happen ❤️ You can even help it reach number one (😱) by giving it a spin & a like over at Amazing Radio: amazingradio.com/chart
I just deactivated our X account. It was harder than I thought having put 13+ years of work into it, having put together the original band line-up there, etc. However, this is about getting off of toxic platforms, making space to reconnect in healthier ways and putting our energies to better uses ❤️
‘Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule’ has entered a chart! We think this is like our third time ever having a single enter the @amazingradio.com charts in over a decade so thanks very much to everyone who has gotten us there! amazingradio.com/chart
Our new single ‘Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule’ is out tomorrow! The lathe-cut vinyl has arrived and it sounds absolutely amazing 🥰 Thanks to @loosehairlathecuts.bsky.social for doing such a brilliant job on these. There are still copies available on #Bandcamp: fold.bandcamp.com/album/resist...
Happy birthday to two of our heroes: Lorraine Hansberry and Malcolm X. Rest in Power.
