Favorite black and white movie? On the basis of visuals alone, it is hard to beat the stunning chiaroscuro emblematic of film noir (or noirish horror like Tourneur's 1942 Cat People). But my fave visually — Orphée by Jean Cocteau — takes a different approach and turns B&W into velvet.
