I've been working hard on Taller Sprites for The Last Islands of Man 2. I'm not quite done finishing walking sprites. I'm redoing my 11 Heroes, 3rd time, and am pretty happy with the results. I'm finding the details that matter now. I can't wait to see them in game. #gamedev #indiegame #rpgmaker
Promises are the side quests of The Last Islands of Man 2. If you make a promise you'll enjoy the social benefits until you break that promise. That choice may not always be yours to make so beware what you promise, or you'll be seen as someone you don't want to be. #gamedev #rpgmaker #indiegame
I've had a very successful week. All my characters are now tall custom sprites. Here are the humanoid Elemental Gods as they are confronted for their poor leadership. Push them too far and you'll feel their true power. Be prepared for that test or you'll be dust too. #indiegame #rpgmaker #gamedev
I'm killing it. 7 tall character walking sprites done in the last few days. These are the Bloodstained Brothers, a cursed family who can't drink water and whose blood is contagious. Their veins are visible through their skin so keep an eye open or you'll be cursed too! #gamedev #rpgmaker #indiegame
I made 5 tall characters in the last 7 days. I'm spotting the problems quicker now and I hope I can keep up this pace. This is the Council of Magi, a proudly chaotic group of magicians eager to fix things by using the remaining drinking water. They can teach you magic. #rpgmaker #indiegame #gamedev
I pulled together 5 tall walking sprites and 15 short ones this weekend, they look pretty good. The Protectors of Order are now present in the village of Hillah. Will you favor their values or carve out your own? Can you stand against them when they force your hand? #indiegame #rpgmaker #gamedev
I've been sneaking in some hours on making things pretty for TLIOM2. I pulled my maps together and am fixing the edges for the "world map". There's a few big nonplayable areas to work out. Not the hardest work but it takes time. Cheers! #gamedev #indiegame #rpgmaker
Working on bits and bobs like my vehicle images, for various amounts of damage and upgrades. Also doing a walk through and tweaking some of the lighting. Here's my attempt at a more typical title screen for this day and age, I'm still partial to the epic landscapes. #gamedev #rpgamaker #indiegame
In TLIOM 2 the final pair of characters that you recruit is determined by the orderly or chaotic choices that you have made throughout the journey. A homeless man and the town's inventor or a stoic wandering nomad and a gentle assassin with a doggo. Who will be your friends? #rpgmaker #indiegame
I've taken the last two weekends off of game dev of TLIOM2. It's good to get a break. Here's some of my fav screenshots from the last few months. I'm really happy with how it's going and I can see a clear road ahead. I'm starting work on UI and menus soon. Cheers. #rpgmaker #gamedev #indiegame
In The Last Islands of Man 2 there are 11+ playable characters all with discoverable histories: Spend some time in camp, witness a major event or watch a friend break down after a traumatic battle. Understand your friends and their choices to help you understand yours. #rpgmaker #gamedev #indiegame
In TLIOM 2 you'll be rewarded for exploring, one easier to find item is a Book of Beasts. It adds a bestiary menu for researching monsters and their item drops, attacks and elements. My last week or so has been spent getting descriptions filled out. Solid Progress. #gamedev #rpgmaker #indiegame
The Eastern cliffs of Babylonia in TLIOM2 are precariously steep, hiding the Fire God's Temple. Their power boils over the mountains and creates more land. You'll drive the cliffs, pushing boulders and monsters out of your way. No fast travel in this Survival game. #rpgmaker #indiegame #gamedev
I'm well into my 3rd iteration of The Last Islands of Man's overworld map. The 2nd was fully functional but now the epic scale is apparent. Suffer the ever drying desert, steep cliffs and sand storms. Collect Water, improve your vehicle and craft equipment. Or Die! #rpgmaker #indiegame #gamedev
Work on The Last Islands of Man 2 continues! A new Petrified Forest map, more Boss Battles and smoothing out the endgame takes up my time lately. Also I've been getting the puzzles polished to help out the player more. Work on the Tutorial is increasingly necessary. #rpgmaker #indiegame #gamedev
I know I said sprites were a priority for The Last Islands of Man 2, but I changed my mind. I pivoted quickly to item, skill and monster balancing and my progress over the last 3 weeks has been great. It feels like a full game now! A few more pieces to go. Progress!! #rpgmaker #indiegame #gamedev
Well, I've done some art, and borrowed some others. The Last Islands of Man 2 gets a minor visual upgrade. I'm working on the overworld a piece at a time, as well as putting together costumes and new sprites. Tall sprites are a real challenge that should be worth it. #indiegame #rpgmaker #gamedev
I've still been smoothing out mechanics for TLIOM 2. Camping, time management, weather, water supplies, shops and always more lighting and shadows. It keeps looking and running better and better. Lots more to go, but it's got some personality now. Cheers. #rpgmaker #indiegame #gamedev
In The Last Islands of Man 2 water is rationed per person, per day. It is the only source of Magic. Balance your tactics or your support at home might collapse. The citizens need water too. If you can get past the guard you can fill your own canteen, it's your choice. #gamedev #rpgmaker #indiegame
I'm working on ironing out my Quest section of my GDD. 25 main quests, and a handful of side quests. This will allow me to organize and expand everything. For reference my GDD is at 120k words, containing my to dos, script, brainstorming, history, characters, everything. #rpgmaker #gamedev #indiedev
