I get chills every time I hit that scene at the end when Batman finally realizes he has to be more than a symbol of vengeance. He can be a symbol for those in need. IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD! This is the edgiest Batman film, but it somehow has the kindest character arc for Bruce that so many miss.

Rewatched The Batman, and I think it's firmly cemented itself as my favourite Batman film, so I had to have The Dark Knight trade places with it in my top 4.

And then we throw AAAAALLLLL that development out the window for Brand New Day, where Bruce is now back to being scared of becoming the Hulk. He talks about him being a big rage monster and even rigs a device to keep his powers in check, which feels like it walks back all the previous movies.

But we basically skip that entire journey (also a deleted scene in Infinity War), so in Endgame, we just have Smart Hulk, and Bruce just explains to the audience how he reconciled his two forms to become one.

Except NOPE, because in Infinity War, Hulk is now too scared to come out after losing one MMA match to Thanos, so Bruce can't transform the entire movie. His character arc seems to be about getting the two identities to form a union rather than fight against each other.

By the end of Thor Ragnarok, it feels like its going in the direction that Bruce has more or less gained some sort of control of the Hulk, and can keep that form without being a "rage monster"

Jump to Thor Ragnarok: Somehow Hulk is able to fly the jet into space and end up on a war planet where he can just Hulk out all the time and fight. He has full sentience as the Hulk and is basically just chilling there until Thor shows up.

But then at the end of the film, Hulk develops enough presense of mind to fly off in the Aven-Jet to self isolate so he can't hurt anyone else. Kinda feels like an arbitrary decision based on where the film was going but sure. Bruce is scared of the Hulk still and its manifesting in the Hulks action

Avengers Age of Ultron: We pull out this random plot point that Black Widow has charisma to make Hulk de-Hulk by calming him down through some sort of training they established between movies? Sure, I can go along with this.

Incredible Hulk/Avengers: Classic Jekyll and Hyde dynamic where Bruce is scared of the damage he will cause when he Hulks out. I can follow along with this.

Random thought I had after watching new Spiderman movie (It was Fine tm): the MCU has NO fucking clue what to do with the Hulk, so they constantly have to give his character developments that happen off screen, and you just have to nod along that this is what his chatacter is now.

RGG has been doing this sort of thing for a minute, adding western celebrities into their games in order to appeal to American audiences, even though the characters are ultimately flat and add nothing to the experience. But dragging up Tupac for this is where it crosses the line into just tasteless.

DMC Season 2 spoiler: There is a scene where Lady is about to be hit by a semi, and Dante saves her in a near shot-for-shot Twilight reference, set to "My Immortal" by Evanescence. Everyone involved in this scene's creation deserves to be drawn and quartered.

Sadly his Dino DNA wasn't enough for him to live up to main character status. He's all over Season 2 when he's introduced to fight for Jaden's attention with Syrus, then he just fades into the background for the rest of the series with no development or arc.
