Do I look capable? I have trichotillomania. I wear wigs daily. But NOT wearing wigs & having patchy-to-no hair is worse, socially. #UnconsciousBias is a thing. But people with disabilities - #MentalHealth esp- often are assumed incapable, lazy, deceitful. I'm damned if I do & damned if I don't.

Some treat accessibility as a horror movie finale; that #accessibility is this big monstrosity that products get sacrificed to. But many horror movies are about what humans do to ourselves. #Ableism is from actions we do to each other. Why not change that narrative?

I made jewelry today. Life and memento mori all at once? I like how the thread riffs on the red tones of the clasp and the T-connector filigree bead.

Coppery magnetic clasps on black cord end in a pendant composed of a rosy, copper filigree T-hang piece, a silvery filigree star or flower, and a silvery corvid skull pendant. A pale pink thread similar to the red tones of the clasps and T-piece tie the parts of the pendant together.

These are examples of things I've crafted lately.

Red-copper earrings with small lapis lazuli beads and nazar charms to keep away the evil eye. Handmade.

Handmade earrings using gold finish jewelry wire, pink acrylic cherry blossom bead caps, white jade and rose quartz beads. One earring is slightly shorter than the other.
