FPL veteran, 3x top 10k, 6x top 50k finishes. Still remembers playing Fantasy Football through the post.
At the moment, I'm only on 1 ARS def. Without Saliba, the defence usually takes a little step down, and there's a bit less assurance to the unit. It's not the defence becomes bad, more a case of going from elite to good, and less fixture proof for FPL. Also more depth than previous seasons now.
I'm fairly happy with these 10; that leaves 5 spots still to decide: 2 of Gvardiol, NOR, and an ARS 5.5m 2 of Szobo, Wirtz, and Semenyo 1 of Thiago or Isak A LIV penalty whilst both Isak and Szobo are on the pitch might be the most useful bit of (non-fitness) info we could get in the last games.
Tried to make a "stability" squad for fun - no new managers, no transferred players. Not an easy task!
For posterity, this was the first squad I put together of players with interesting prices - but with no consideration to fixtures or chip strategies. Needless to say, it will change completely, but I will want to see some preseason first.
1st go (on medium difficulty), am off out now but bound to spend ages on it when I get back 😂
GW38 55pts -8pts = 47pts OR 2.2K➡️3.8K Deflating end to the season with 6 MCI/ARS, Wilson and Lacroix, and just 1 FT. The Marmoush transfer cost me 4pts, captaincy choice another 8pts, so absolute best case scenario was a grey arrow. Still my best ever finish and inside the top 5k.
In the shadow WC32 comparison, GW37 saw a swing based on Gyok(C) v Saka(C). This week, I probably would have stepped on the same Marmoush-shaped rake, as I assumed it was a totally rotated team - except I'd be raging at having transferred out a starting Semenyo (instead of a benched Cherki).
GW38 OR 2.2K 3 transfers for -8pts Haaland➡️Bowen Saka➡️Salah Cherki➡️Marmoush Salah(C), Bruno (VC) Chaotic end in every way, news of all 3 of my MCI benched before the deadline, all 3 of my ARS afterwards. Got my transfers in 10 mins before the deadline at least.
A little calm before the chaos (although getting him out of the water was pretty chaotic 😂)
ARS goal markets coming down this morning, guess it's going to be Gunnersaurus and Win the dog up front 😂 MCI maybe a smudge lower but seems to be holding steady though.
GW37 62pts OR 2K➡️2.2K Differentials were awful again aside from Saka (C). The Van Hecke /DCL swing particularly painful. My head wanted Szobo on WC35 but went for upside of Wilson / Rogers / Ndiaye and has been a complete disaster. Going to be a mad scramble for early team news this weekend.
Going to be a wild week. 5 players with ownership of 100% +/-20%, going to come down to captaincy and differentials.
Interesting to see how the goals market in the AVL v LIV game changed from yesterday (already down from a few days ago) to today.
Drama in the shadow WC32 comparison, forced to keep Semenyo and the BHA assets from GW32, it only lost 5pts to the real BB36 team - leaving the two strategies tied! The WC32 team feels a little more boxed in with 3x BOU, 3x BHA and 3x MCI, but has Gyokeres (C). I'd do Lacroix to Keane this week.
GW37 Rogers➡️Ndiaye Saka(C) Bruno(VC) OR 2K Between all the boring options I was looking at I went for maybe the most boring. I'm not 100% on the minutes of NOR/Cherki and am still thinking about benching one in a tough game.
GW36 84pts OR 2.2K➡️2K Disappointing week on the bench boost. My bench scored a very respectable 18 pts, but my differentials blanked and all my threats returned. Trying to catch lighting in a bottle with Rogers and Wilson has not worked. Not sure if I'm rolling or not, may do Rogers➡️ KDH/Ndiaye.
DGW36 Bench Boost active OR 2.2K Haaland (C) NOR (VC) Thiago➡️Welbeck Justin➡️Keane Time for the last chip of the season. On the fence between Keane and Danso, but Keane can start next week too and hopefully let me roll so I have 2 FT's for possible GW38 chaos.
Swingy, slightly unlucky, week for the shadow WC32 team with Hill 1st bench, losing 11pts to the WC35 team, leaving the gap at just 5pts now with the BB still to go. I'd be using 3FT's: Palmer/JP/Struijk➡️Saka/Gyokeres/Lacroix. Team is still decent, but starting to feel like issues are growing.
This is on my mind a bit. Made a quick overview of the GW38 fixtures with "on the beach %" differential
Bus team for GW36. I plan on using the BB this week and, at a minimum, doing Thiago➡️ Welbeck. I'll also most likely move Justin to Richards/Canvot if I want a 3rd CRY player, or Keane/Danso/VdV/Kadioglu if I don't want a 3rd CRY player.
GW35 63pts OR 3.2K➡️2.2K Decent start to the WC/BB pairing. Saka gamble paid off, could have been better if I stuck with Szobo from my drafts too. I have 2 FT's and 2 CRY players already, pending European games that might be enough for the BB.
This might be one of the worst performances from a team in the UCL spots, against one in the relegation zone, for a long time
I know it's a bank holiday weekend but these are some crazy kick off times for a Sunday and Monday

The shadow WC32 team would line up like this for GW35, I'd roll to have 3FT's next week and the chance to bring in 2 or 3 CRY players. Could be big swings depending on how CHE do!
