Fisherman’s Day is public holiday, here in the Marshall Islands 🇲🇭… lots of people out and about. Sea people are socially been appreciated as fish is the key protein source. Is a job that feed people! The whole idea of shaming fishers as some sort of environmental criminals is absolutely foreign

I’m not a meetings-type person, and while I cherish my operational and research work, it's in meetings like this one where decisions are made, and being able to provide feedback on the research basis and the potential implementation implications of those decisions is helpful to the RMI delegation.
Pleased that most of the people I work in the pacific are welcomed this way to a week of meetings discussing the many aspects of our shared tuna fisheries at Te Papa… is reassuring to emphasise that (at least in principle) we are a pacific islands bicultural country
