I really don't get how people can read stuff like this and fail to realise that it cannot be by William Blake (who did write a famous line about doors, but not this one). This has the cadence of someone parodying Tolkien, not of a romantic poet
Nothing new under the sun: a writer complaining that you can't say anything these days without someone taking issue with it... in 1591:
Just read in this that Henry VIII once invaded France, blew up a castle, declared victory, then went back to England leaving someone else to clear up the mess, all at a cost of something like £1 billion in modern money. Who says studying history has no relevance today?
What I admire about this poem is the audacity not only to claim it's a poem, but to then actually send it to an editor
For my fellow writers, a true classic of the genre of confusing agency websites (the bit that says 'CLOSED' is a button that does nothing):
Came across this old interview with Shigeru Miyamoto in which he (inadvertently?) implies that 'Dr' Mario is guilty of some sort of medical malpractice:
Watching this old film of Anthony and Cleopatra and she's just walked in wearing a fucking Naruto wig
I've been singing it like that since I was ~2 years old, and only when I read this did I find out other people hear it this way too!
Got this anti-LTN leaflet through the door and it very much needs debunking.
