Gold medal from the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Designed by Chaumet, one the finest jeweler in the world, a subsidiary of LVMH. In the middle of the medal, there’s a piece of iron from the Eiffel Tower, hexagon-shaped (the hexagon is a symbol of France, whose continental territory is roughly shaped like one). Fun fact: Olympic gold medals are actually mostly made of silver nowadays; the only requirement, set by the Olympics committee, is that they contain at least 6g of gold (which isn’t much!)

It’s a nasty deal for sure 😮‍💨 On top of bsky.app/profile/free..., here’s an illustrated winning start. Focus first on building, on the last tableau pile, red 9→7♦️, using cards from the stock. Manipulate it carefully! After that, 7♠️ becomes accessible. Move 6♦️ on it, it hides Q♥️.

After 11 moves, the 12th is highlighted. Don’t put the Ace of Hearts to foundation afterwards! Don’t mess with the stock unless it helps with moving 6 of Diamonds ;-)

After 65 moves, and many cycles through the stock, one can finally move the 7 of Diamonds & 7 of Spades from the stock to the tableau. After that, lay down the 6 of Diamonds on the 7 of Spades. Moving the 6 reveals the Queen of Hearts, which must be put to King of Clubs. Then it’s easy ;-)

After 74 moves. It all flows naturally after the Queen of Hearts is put on the King of Clubs.

🆘 There’s a trick to this one: 😉🤫

Initial layout of Klondike Solitaire deal #5691. One can see that the two black Kings, and the two red Queens, are on the tableau. The Queen of Hearts is blocking the King of Spades and a lower-rank Hearts (the 6), so she /must/ be moved to the other black King, the King of Clubs!

Deal #5691, game in progress after 87 moves. Highlighted is the moving of the Queen of Hearts (not the Queen of Diamonds!) over the King of Clubs; doing otherwise would be deadly.

Game almost over after 133 moves. As one can see, the foundation piles were built in a balanced way.

🆘 It’s a toughie! Here are some snapshots during a winning path. “Worrying back” (taking cards from foundations back to the tableau) was heavily used!

No no, it can be completed: deal #500 has been finished 42 times in “draw 3”. The black 7s block the red 8s. But! they don’t block a lower-rank Spade and Club, so it’s not impossible to move them: send (one of) them to foundation directly 😉
