An early bike 🚲 ride this mrng before it gets too hot (34C this aftn 🥵). Cycled on Rucphen heath with heather starting to bloom. And via Essen (with an example display of the WW1 Death wire) and Molenbeek Pad back to Roosendaal.
We’ve got to change from gas to electricity. Needs more and more powerful electricity ⚡️ substations. Energy transition on its way in our neighbourhood 💪

De Kerkhovense Molen in #Oisterwijk is een monumentale stenen stellingmolen uit 1895, die nog altijd in bedrijf is en toegankelijk is voor bezoekers. Mooie rondleiding gehad!
Dambuster ‘S for Sugar’ fr pilot Lewis Burpee crashed on May 17th 1943 at Gilze-Rijen Airbase (German att). A monument was erected at the Airbase by friends of mine. The crew is buried at Bergen op Zoom War cemetery.
Guy #Gibson unfortunately crashed on Sep 19th 1944 in #Steenbergen in The Netherlands. It’s just 10 km from where I’m living. #LestWeForget
#OTD 16th May 1943: at 21:39 hrs. the first Formation of 617 Squadron ["#Dambusters"] took off from #RAF #Scampton in #Lincolnshire. CO of RAF 617 Sqn was Guy Penrose #Gibson VC DSO and Bar DFC and Bar.
