Bicycles give you wings. Ding ding losers, weeeeewooohooo! Recovering Brit, 🇳🇱 resident. Very slow with likes, sorry.
The lad made a 42km trip to our campsite last week. His longest yet and something to be super proud of. The lass, who is older and more able, did the return trip with me to pick up the car on the same day, clocked 72km. Another record!
Really loving the macro on my Pixel now I'm (slowly) learning to use it.
I noticed this because I sometimes cycle, sometimes drive with my kids to their school, which is along a 2km 60kmh road with more cycle lanes allocation than motor vehicle. Img: @bicycledutch.bsky.social, bicycledutch.wordpress.com/2020/08/12/c...
Today I saw my first one of these, and what a beauty! *A purple-barred yellow moth in North Holland dunes.
During lunch in the dunes today we watched a field digger wasp bury her eggs. She only buried them 1-2cm deep but in her defence, the sand was pretty hot and she was being watched by two excited kids.
I don't think I'm ignoring it, I don't see evidence of a collapse! There have been many recent scarcities and price rises, but they appear to be down to commercial, political and economic events. In my life time there were huge, lengthy famines! Why do you say there's a collapse now?
I saw a Holly Blue butterfly while I was putting the washing out in the sunshine, so snapped it with my phone. I took it from the sunny side, pointing towards me, so had no view of the screen. Does that make it a 180 no-scope?
More Dutch niceness. It's been a long journey this year, after a back injury on Jan 01, but this is probably my 8th or 9th ride this year, achieving 37km of pain-free fun.
Who wouldn't want this on their doorstep? And if you have it, who wouldn't want to spend their time riding through it on a bike?
These are not social-media addicted 18-year-olds! Every single one of them is old enough to know better.
Don't come to Amsterdam, you'd have a heart attack. Have a look at the per-km cycle injury statistics though, and you'll find that looks, and your preconceptions, can be decieving.
Why do cars get to park inside the lobby of shops? When I ask for my bike I always get told to leave it in the bike rack round back.
We did some biology in the dunes last weekend. They went back immediately.
