TDI just brought in breakfish for his family the handover from dad to mum took all of 2 seconds then he was off to go fishing again .
TDI brought in 15 fish to Darden and 2J8 yesterday he seems to fish really well in hot weather . They weren’t the biggest of fish but plenty of them . Well done dad 👏👏👏 The next step will be to see Bob 2 starting to self feed then helicoptering on the nest when his flight feathers fully come through
@breneke.bsky.social Not sure if you have been able to keep up with the nest we have a male and he was ringed yesterday . Another couple of weeks and this boy will fledge .
Everyone meet 2JB our wee Bob got her / his bling yesterday. We don’t have details of weight or sex yet . This is the first chick to be ringed at the reserve for 3 years after sad incidents so it’s a joyful occasion .
Wee Bob 35 days old today and look at the size of her / him beside his mum . Still no official word on ringing but I think they will possibly just switch off the camera then give us an update after it’s done .The weather is to be better from tomorrow onwards so that’s perfect weather for ringing .
Thought I would post a picture of a chick that was ringed on Thursday at another nest because it shows just how big these chicks are in comparison to the ringer .The pictures I post and watching the live stream can be very deceiving.
Wee Bob is starting to look more like an Osprey every day . His dad brought in 2 fish at once yesterday and it was so funny as Darden was not on the nest so wee Bob went to dad wanting fed and TDI looked very confused but then mum arrived and took over .
Not so wee Bob with mum after having 6 fish brought in yesterday. No official announcement but wee Bob should be getting ringed in the next week or so .
Yesterday there was an intruder at the nest and I was laughing at wee Bob with her chest out alarm calling looking at the sky before dad left to chase it away .
TDI brought in 7 fish yesterday and I read on the forum that the day before he brought in 2 fish at the same time one in each talon although I couldn’t find it scrolling back to get a picture.
These were taken on Thursday in 28 degrees heat TDI brought in a total of 9 fish and Darden and wee Bob were so stuffed they didn’t even get up for the last one . Someone on the forum joked that he should phone a doctor because his wife and wean ( baby ) were unwell as they are usually demanding 🤣
I know not everyone likes pigeons but I do they are so clever cooling down and it knows I am no threat .
One of 5 fish TDI brought in yesterday he is really doing so well .There was a funny incident when Darden took a toilet break and brought a stick back to build up the cot rails on the nest for the little one getting more mobile and she accidentally hit the chick trying to place it so it bit her🤣
Wee Bob is getting stronger by the day and is at that baby dinosaur stage .Dad brought in 6 small fish in total yesterday.
Wee Bob is starting to get feathers .Despite it being terrible weather here yesterday TDI brought in 4 fish for his family .
Wee Bob getting one of 5 fish brought in yesterday and that was good considering it was raining most of the day .
Wee Bob one week old today and seems to be going from strength to strength even fish calling to his dad yesterday. TDI is doing great bringing in a lot of smaller fish but often .
The chick being fed by mum .Still no hatch on the 3 rd egg that I am hoping will not hatch now as there would be too much sibling aggression .
Not positive yet I need to wait on others in the Osprey community waking up but I think this is possibly the very start of a pip on the 3 rd egg starting but I could be wrong it could be speckling .
Last night at roughly 20.40 Bob 2 came into the world .Darden and TDI are both doing amazing with him bringing in 3 medium sized fish and chasing crows away from the nest. I haven’t noticed any pip on egg 3 as of yet .
Wee Bob from the earlier first feed then in a food coma .When they are born they still have enough food from the egg sack to do them roughly first 24hrs but this little one wanted fish from mamma . Still no hatch on egg 2 🪺
