It worked great and was probably a must, even if it didn't work out in the end. This team can get a lead but can't *hold* a lead. The last 3 games are typical: the moment they tie it up or take the lead, they give it back in the next half-inning.
@robertreich.substack.com.web.brid.gy gets it exactly right about Trump and the World Cup. Trump is both an awful bully and awfully bad at it. He ruins everything he touches. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... Trump’s World Cup intervention has ruined the game | Robert Reich
Comments on this Tom Kean “I was hospitalized for depression and left work and kept it hidden for 4 months” announcement are right on the money.
Amazing number. But if you follow “Mini Vows” in the @nytimes.com, it tracks.
“Pay us or else we’ll release maggot-ridden beef into the food supply” is a real flex. Sounds kinda like blackmail.
@jfruh.bsky.social Kalshi doing its best to bring “The Enthusiast” to life. www.garbageday.email/p/the-clear-...
NY Times archive search is messy, but here's the first page of Google archives search. The '80s is when I first subscribed, so I've been through a few cycles. 8 years may be unfair, but "every dozen years" might be right. No harm in a new generation hearing about a good school, of course.
Hot take: adults can catch and keep foul balls! You are not required to give the ball to the nearest child. If you WANT to give it away, lovely gesture, sure. But foul balls are and always have been fair game for everyone. 1/2
@jfruh.bsky.social Doing a deep dive on the Phantom's wife thanks to the wiki you mentioned this morning.
The amazing Barbara Hepworth Museum in St. Ives (@tatestives.bsky.social) invites kids to leave a letter for the artist, who died in 1975. This one’s a winner. 🥲
Pretty sure the graybeard's baseball cap says DEFARGE. Hope his wife is coming in just out of frame.
"And you know that peace can only be won / When we've blown them all to kingdom come." These Country Joe McDonald lyrics from 1967 seem relevant today.
Yet @nytimes.com still leading with “moral imperative” airman rescue. Glad they rescued him, it’s not the top story.
…and the stage solution for (not) showing Jesus carried through to the movies.
Dear lord. On top of the senseless murders of schoolgirls and the insanity of the war, what a humiliation for Trump, those who support him, and for our country that elected him.
www.bostonglobe.com/2026/03/12/m... Great piece by Yvonne Abraham or the @bostonglobe.com. What a terrible, murderous war. What a waste.
It IS a strong interview, and very civil, all things considered. It does seem laughable to suggest now that Iran must talk it out with the US.
