Coming at this from the perspective of furry I think it's still relevant to us, if a fursona ref sheet or a fursuit are "commodities" that one buys to engage. That the wheel-of-discourse and "puriteens" are buying into a fandom with specific expectations based on their tame, safe FYP.

there’s all the discourses over whether ‘depiction is endorsement’ and the antipathy for any challenging fiction. All of it precipitates from mismanaged expectations. Furry has been kinky since the beginning as illustrated by these photos from Confurence 1993 (curated by www.instagram.com/d0gfag/) There has always been a demand for adult spaces in furry. The fandom was founded on the idea that adults can use anthro animals and cartoons to express adult interests.

Picked up "Buster Wilde: Weerwolf" by Scot Zellman paperback at AC this year. It's a delightful read. An early furry fandom webcomic success story from 1997, has a lot of humour that would be very familiar to todays pup-play enthusiasts.

Literally can't even take a break without YT threatening to take away the pennies we earn from their advertisers. This will literally mean that they're going to take 100% of the ad revenue that our content generates. For context we make about only about $200 a year in youtube ad revenue.

Youtube's dumb letter saying that because we haven't posted in 6 months that they are going to stop paying our ad revenue. YouTube will still make money from our content though.
