The Faust and The Furious
@gabrielswitch
The writing account for @marklawford. Currently working on a series retooling the Doctor Faustus mythology.
I've spent the last year working on these two beauties. Novel number two of the series, and season one of The Misadventures of Doctor Faustus. 200k words between them. Over 900 pages. The Second Son launches on Monday, Misadventures volume one early August.
KDP proof copies have arrived. There are a few additional blank pages at the back of the book, so I might do something to fill them... Have a week or so to play around with the final file.
The second installment of the Faust Quartet is coming in July. Dealing with themes of personal identity and choice, when a young man is discovered to be a faerie changeling, Faust is given the task of finding the real boy and bringing him home. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0H68MD3ZY/
When a boy is found to be a faerie changeling, Faust is sent to do the impossible — take the changeling, find the stolen human child, and swap them back. Sounds easy, unless you have an identity crisis of your own to deal with. The Second Son. July 27th. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0H68MD3ZY/
Coming July 27th... Book two of the Faust Quartet. With faeries ahead, and the religious courts on their tail, Faust and Wagner must take a faerie changeling to find the boy he replaced, before their parents are put on trial for raising a monster in the sight of God.
The edit phase has officially started... Book two of The Faust Quartet is on its way.
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B... One week to go... ebook and paperback available October 27th. ebook preorders open now.
Launching October 27th. Ebook available for preorder now on Amazon. Doctor Faustus, itinerant necromancer for hire, is tasked with finding a scholar on the run with a heretical book. One instruction , one order. Do not read that book. #ShamelessSelfpromoSaturday #writerslift
KDP author proof copy has arrived. It feels good. But not as good as it reads... Find out for yourself on 27/10/2025... #faust #faustus #mephistopheles #fantasy
Feels great to be on the final countdown to launching this thing. I've seen ebook preorders coming in and I know I have people waiting on the paperback launch too. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FT3VY35...
My first self-published book is nearly here. October 27th is the target publication date. Full cover reveal, details, and pre-order link all coming shortly.
That's a wrap. All edits now in the electronic file. Now sitting just over 94K words. I have back matter and blurb work to do and to get the ebook out to a few early readers ahead of releasing to the world later this year.
That's not a stack of blank paper. That's the completed red-pen read through of Faust:The First Folio. Next job... Edit all the red squiggles into the manuscript and call it done. Once the manuscript is finished, I'll be sending out ebook ARCs. If anyone does fancy receiving one, let me know.
Someone forgot to tell Winston that manuscript boxes are not for orange cats.
Editing chapter by chapter, line by line. So useful to switch to a different medium. Reading it back feels so different and I'm finding things I want to sharpen all the way through. But most importantly, I'm enjoying engaging with this book on a whole new level. Absolutely convinced... It's good.
These were the cheap seats, apparently. #glyndebourne
I'm looking for some beta readers for my Victorian fantasy novel. I just need a few people to read a few hundred pages and give feedback on what works, what doesn't, whether the story and the characters land, and what questions and problems get raised that need fixing. DM me
