Thank you for reading, Kat. And, not for nothing, I love that Cariboo Brewing coffee mug.
When you publish a book, you rarely get to know where it ends up. Every now and then a reader sends you a note or a snapshot. I like to imagine Who Else in the Dark Headed There (@biblioasis.bsky.social) rattling around Kat’s truck as she takes the cattle road from Kaleden into Keremeos.
My poem “Force of Habit Still” from Who Else in the Dark Headed There ( @biblioasis.bsky.social, 2026).
I'm not sure what your dad likes to read, but, hey, it's worth a try.
In which I read my poem “Potato Cellar” from Who Else in the Dark Headed There. Give it a listen.
A review of my new book, Who Else in the Dark Headed There, appears in the May 2026 issue of the Literary Review of Canada (@reviewcanada.bsky.social). . Check it out below.
Hassan Kanafani is the pseudonym for a Palestinian writer whose firsthand account of living in Gaza, Pizza Before We Die, is now out with @arsenalpulp.bsky.social. . Find it, order it, from any bookstore in Canada. With gratitude to Yasuko Thanh for her role in getting this book published.
A poem of mine, Grandparents' House 1967, now appears in the latest issue of @chronogram.bsky.social. You'll also find this poem in my new book, Who Else in the Dark Headed There (@biblioasis.bsky.social).
This Thursday, April 30, I’m launching my new book of poetry, Who Else in the Dark Headed There, in Victoria with Ali Blythe, Melanie Siebert, and Anne-Marie Turza. I love these people dearly and can’t wait to share the night with them—and with you. Doors at 6:30. Come early for dinner and drink.
Delphine is two-and-a-half years old and expressive as heck. I recorded this in March after receiving author copies of WHO ELSE IN THE DARK HEADED THERE, my newly published second book of poetry.
Thanks also to Mosaic Books for handling the book sales. If you live in Kelowna, you buy my book there. They've a handful still in stock.
Deep thanks to poets Lesley-Anne Evans and Ruth Daniell for joining me on stage, and to our emcee, Emily Christina Murphy, friend and flamenco aficionado.
Thank you to everyone who came out to my Kelowna book launch on Tuesday. 60+ people attended—former teachers and classmates from elementary through high school, and family, including my aunt, cousin, and my father. This was the first literary event my father has ever gone to. That meant a lot.
Join me tomorrow for a National Poetry Month event hosted by @malahatreview.bsky.social and Planet Earth Poetry, where I will read from my new book alongside poets @louieleyson.bsky.social and Elizabeth Bachinsky.
High Horse Magazine has accepted six poems from my new book WHO ELSE IN THE DARK HEADED THERE, due out in bookstores on April 14. The poems were published in two instalments. Links below.
