Farnborough Air Show this week. Spotted at Waterloo this morning. Totally fine.

I'm sure that someone posted similar yesterday, but before I can see The Odyssey I need to go back in on the Coen brothers' 'sort of based on' version. Released to mixed reviews maybe, but to me at least it's an absolute delight of a film.

Aw, it's five years already since I went to Glasgow to see them filming Indy 5 and ended up finding a horse's arse in some pretend-1950s New York street, not realising at the time that it would arguably be one of the best bits of that utter mess of a film.

Found my first MP3 player at the weekend - the Sony NW-MS7 from 1999 - up to 12 songs on a Memory Stick, encoded in Sony's proprietary format. Ditched it for the iPod in 2002, but seeing them together made me realise just how fun tech used to look before everything became a rounded rectangle 🙃

Time for a film, and one I have no problems returning to for repeat viewings while my watchlist continues to grow. Exquisite in every way, and the best in the franchise by a mile.

I think we can take a moment to admire the United States Postal Service's commemorative stamps celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, by illustrator Juan Carlos Pagan. The '1776' in both designs is smart, though where the feathers are elegant that stylised flag is 👌

Returning to Bristol is always difficult now after having made so many happy memories here. I did at least manage to wipe away the tears for long enough this morning to admire Temple Meads' fancy restored roof however, which I'm glad about because it's spectacular. Worth what felt like a long wait.

Friends fear he's got the British Rail design manuals out again.

Got a crackin' photo of LNER Peppercorn Class A1 60163 "Tornado" at Darlington last week by the way.
