Voting 101: nine people on a bus, three vote to drive over a cliff. Two vote to go get ice-cream. Four don't bother to vote. Everyone dies. Like it or not, you're on the bus with everyone else. Make your voice heard.

The harm reduction approach means:
- It's not always about the ice cream
- The people abstaining for moral purity reasons ("I'd only vote for a VEGAN ice cream parlor!") are functionally the equivalent to those abstaining because theya re okay with either option
- The ice cream not being very good does NOT mean driving off the cliff is somehow better.

For example, third day of a four day HAZOP today, here is my owl.

This is a northern hawk owl, he's grey with a bright yellow beak and eyes. This indicates that he is a diurnal hunter, that's not relevant to my choice, but an interesting aside. The owl is looking straight down the lens with an expression of disbelief and disquiet. He's not happy, but not furious with what's going on. If he had any choice in the matter, he'd be somewhere else. He's being held by someone with blue gloves and the assistance of a fluffy beige towel.

Over the last couple of days I've been doing community service, attempting to do a good faith conversation with an absolute peak transphobe. The only thing I wanted to share was this ludicrous side-post on a photo of my cat.

Screenshot of a post about how pretty my cat is (she is very pretty, tortoiseshell and frankly a bit of a goblin too). With a reply from a transphobic person that says.
"Pretty. Just curious though why you’re using female pronouns. Did you ask how she identifies? If not, are you assuming her sex? Based on what metrics? Her genitals? Her reproductive organs? Surely you had those removed, so how are you classifying her?"

I feel like she could do more to look "very disappointed". I almost get it, she lost out on a gold medal, in the only olympics she ever competed in, 45 years ago, to someone who was drug enhanced. She's probably not very over it.

I am not sure if this is a genre, but my cat, Princess Esmeralda Margaret Note Spelling of Lancre, make me think of books I read over and over. The Deed of Paksenarrion, and The Silver Wolf. I guess that is approximately feminist fantasy series that I've read so much the books are broken.
