July 4th. Earth, Wind & Fire / Lionel Ritchie, Toronto. Sing a Song All Night Long is what we did and it was fabulous. At a later point in the evening, Lionel, the choir master, led all 19,000 of us in a singalong of We Are The World. It was magical and oh so moving. It was a really good night.
@manmademoon.bsky.social @rodene.bsky.social This is a must see. Nat Geo Explorer, Bertie Gregory and amazing team don’t disappoint. The photography is stellar. It does, however, include a graphic scene of bees taking out a murder hornet so for small kids, viewer discretion advised.
I was creative director at IMAX from 1981 to 2015. I worked on all of the space films. The effort to get one of those “birds” into space is such an amazing feat of human know how and team work. Kudos to you.
My comment was especially dumb as in my IMAX life, I worked on Stephen Low’s IMAX film TITANICA.
Miller. Imagine that 16-year-old Mohammad, dragged from the rubble of an air strike, was your family. “We were sleeping in the morning. A jet came and my dad died. And my mom died. And, my sister-in-law and her kids…I was sleeping, the strike woke me. I saw my father in pieces. I wish it was me…
I started to follow shipwreck. He’s reporting Iran news often before CNN is reporting it. You might want to check him out.
Whoa! Are you my brother? I was born in Targét in NY. Moved to Canada right after birth, in fact, that same day! Crossed the border in the trunk of a car. I’ve had a great career dressing as a chainsaw killer, talk show host, Ken and Glinda. Downside, I spend 10 months of the year in a closet!
Hit ‘em in their wallets! @profgalloway.com says send them a message. Galloway launches month-long big tech boycott to protest ice. CNN Tricky. I can do 7, maybe 8. @pulmyears.bsky.social @manmademoon.bsky.social @ronsexsmith.bsky.social
RIP Catherine O’Hara. For Torontonians (Early Queen W) this will hit exceptionally hard. The O’Haras, Catherine, Marcus, Michael, Mary Margaret, (I think one more) made an indelible mark on the culture of our city, and Catherine, the world. We all know them. My heart goes out to the family. ❤️
There’s no business like snow business! 🇨🇦 It’s been a number of years since I’ve seen this much snow in TO. It’s expected to snow through the night. @manmademoon.bsky.social @alexdecampi.bsky.social
Me too! Then after that, Annie Hall. Little activity outside. I hear nothing other than the sound of shovels and the occasional plow. My car disappeared in a drift. I haven’t seen this much snow since I was a kid!
A bizarre painting done by my Grandfather of my wicked step Grandmother Fran. My mother’s parents’ breakup was the reason for her being shipped to England to live with her mum. Instead of Canada, she spent her teenage years in Portsmouth during WWII. Its a reminder of how lucky I am to be 🇨🇦.
GREENLAND. As the Trump administration continues on its quest to extort the world of its resources, here’s an interesting read (FB) by Haraldur Sigurdsson, Prof. Emeritus, URI Grad School of Oceanography, about the potential enviro dangers of mining in Greenland. @manmademoon.bsky.social
I did, however, have a really nice start to my day. I watched the @unklerupert.uk post of David Bowie on The Big Breakfast (1999). Soooo good! I'll definitely revisit that.
